Ziva Pov

Today I'm back in college with Sarah. We have sports class now, more, specifically basketball. I am a little elsewhere ... I had a long discussion with Nicolae about their secret. There's nothing monstrous about them. They try as hard as possible to live peacefully among humans. They feed often on wild animals during their "hunts". Peter hasn't talked to me since our exchange, in his room.

With a heavy heart, I look around the gym. some students are already here, warming up. I notice Samantha is present, in her cheerleader outfit. Mentally I could deadpan myself. Gr-eat! Just what I needed to ruin my day...

I try to ignore her but predictably, she spots me right away.  Couldn't she leave me alone?

Samantha - "Ah, here we go, make way for the losers! Have you decided to try sport in order to look like something? I'm afraid it's too late. "

Her shrill voice makes it hard but I try to ignore her. She's not even worth me paying her any attention... She looks me up and down then goes to join her friends, the other cheerleaders. They make an unbearable little team of twerps who keep chuckling and saying unpleasant remarks. the longer they stay away from me, the better. As Sarah and I begin to warm up, someone else enters the gym, causing hysterical giggles from all the girls.

Looking over to check what the commotion was about. It's Loan, accompanied by all his friends. They walk as if the whole world belonged to them. (really unbearable...) Loan looks around the gym, and his eyes stop on me. He frowns for a moment, then gives me a charming smile. it's like he thinks I've forgotten about how he behaved. He's wrong! I turn my back to him, without answering his smile. He can go to hell if he expects a warm welcome from me!

The teacher arrives and asks us to take the balls. He divides everybody into teams and, when they're almost done, I see Peter walk into the gym nonchalantly, holding his hands in his pocket. My hearts immediately leaps into my chest! Seeing him here gives me a little hope ...

The teacher doesn't even bother to lecture him and tells him to join a team. He asks us to make two teams of girls and two teams of boys. The girls will play against each other and the boys too. I'm pretty happy I won't have to face Loan or Peter.

Peter looks at Loan for a moment and obviously chooses the opposing team to his. The air feels almost thick with tension. I dread a little what might happen, especially since Peter and Loan aren't taking their eyes off each other, both ready to attack. I watch them stare daggers at each other before the coach blows the whistle signalling for everyone's attention. The teacher decides that the girls will play first. I place myself on the basketball court, a little worried in front of the boys. My nerves are on edge and I'm frightened of making a fool of myself. I might fall, miss the ball, what do I know? ... Internally I can feel myself shrink even further. Why did they both have to have their course at the same time as me? Already preparing myself, I look over at the one and only diva that would most likely add the icing to the cake. Surprise surprise, she shay shays away.

Samantha refused to play, claiming she was tired after her cheerleader training. She's joined Loan on the benches and is dangling on his arm.

I press my lips. I cannot help but I feel sorry for her. She really seems to be in love with Loan, even if he doesn't really take any notice of her. Actually he looks almost embarrassed at her attentiveness. It can't be easy to live ...

The coach whistles and we stand ready. Dribbling the ball around, we play for a moment. I seem to be rather good at this game. At one point Sarah tries to give me a pass, but all I see is her cleavage, her buttons have come undone.  Even though I feel a pull I look away. Turning my gaze, I focus on the match when I lose sight of the ball. WTF! Like where did it go? I turn around in all directions, a little disoriented.
