Peters Pov

10 minutes.

Class had already been dismissed for 10 minutes and I hadn't moved. The scent of spring flowers and vanilla still lingered and everyone was busy getting to their next classes. I hadn't meant to go back for Zeva. The school's witches were buzzing about how Sarah had brought someone, so after finding Marcel, I went looking for the little witch. I needed to have a word with her before she met up with Zeva. Problem was, I was too late and Sarah was opening her big mouth. With so many perked ears! I all but stormed the place taking Zeva with me. Not my brightest moment when I needed to keep her away from curious eyes.

I hadn't noticed how upset she was, not until she ducked out of the classroom. She had hid herself within a crowd of students, taking another route to her next class. The rejection in her action stung.

Awww poor .. poor Peter..You were too late. She's avoiding you. Even if you stopped the little witch from telling her. She knows you're a monster. You kill. And now she doesn't want to be anywhere near you. Poor, poor Peter. Forever cursed to fail at what you do.. Go back to your poor imitation....

I Squeezed my eyes shut, and did everything to shut out the rampant voice in my head. I needed to focus. Forcing my feet to move away from the soothing scent of spring flowers and vanilla, I headed towards the music room.

Upon entering the room, my eyes instantly targeted the slender hooded figure, who had sneaked himself inside. His hood had been pulled to cover to cover his face and hair leaving only his blue eyes piercing through the shadows. His hands were busy fiddling with a guitar that he had taken, playing silent notes.

"Sorry I'm late, Collin. See something you like?"

Collin - "Maybe. Some geezer once gave me one just like it when I was a kid. Told me that music could do all sorts of things, all I needed was to find the right focus. But I recall him being more punctual."

Collin snickered as he took down his hood. He was definitely older than the last time I had seen him. His hair was now slightly longer than Nicolaes, not that he would appreciate the comparison. Other than that he hadn't changed.

"Geezer? Between you and me, you are the older looking one."

Collin stretched his long legs and flipped the bird in slight mock irritation.

Collin - "Yeah well that's because many things don't change in Mystery Spell. You know, Nicolae is still an ass. A fully detailed security sweep of the systems? That will take time, no matter how much he pushes Carter for it to be done quicker. Which raises my next question. Why am I here instead of work doing that?"

"I have something for you, and it's not a business matter."

I smiled and that seemed to peak his interest.

"This is a personal matter. How would you feel about getting back at the ones who took Josh?"

Collins' mouth snapped shut and his eyes took on an icy blue as he straightened himself. A guttural growl rumbled in his chest and he tightened the grip on the guitar.

Collin - "What you need?"

A smile drew on my lips. I knew it would be too tempting for him to say no. Being half blooded, he had his own personal encounter with that particular group of hunters. I still remember that day Drogo and I stumbled onto the scene. It was only our third encounter with that particular group but I remember the details. It was a slaughter but we managed them to stop them from taking the mother. However some had still managed to escape taking the little brother. No way I was letting them take Zeva or Dorothy. With an already semi established band Collin was the perfect candidate.

"Follow my lead and try to keep up."

I went and sat down at my piano and immediately got to work. Closing my eyes I recalled the strong feeling of keeping Zeva in my arms protected. After a few hours of rehearsing and a second successful take, Collin needed to take a break.

Collin - " I got to hand it to you, Peter. Pure genius. How are you thinking of dispersing it to the masses?"

"You. I was thinking you could incorporate it into your style music."

Collin stretched and held his neck looking up.

Collin - "It could work... But being written on the piano it would obviously be easier to have someone playing the piano to begin with. Besides myself, I only got a bass player... a drummer."

"Nice try, but I got my own reasons for staying here. Recruit yourself another pianist if you need to. Just Let me know when you are ready and I'll make the call."

Both of our heads snapped towards the door as the hand suddenly started to move. The door opened and a face accompanied by a familiar scent, made me get up hiding Collin from view.

Dorothy - "Hey Peter."

My eyes shuttered as I rubbed my temples. Of course Dorothy would come here. I had hoped to avoid her for at least another day or two.

"Dorothy."

I nodded turned towards Collin to let him know we finished for the day. Thankfully Collin had already pulled up his hood and was already packing up his things. Dorothy lingered a bit in the doorway before walking in.

Dorothy - "You didn't answer my calls. Who's your friend?"

She smiled coyly, looking at Collin trying to get a closer look.

"Like I would tell you."

A crestfallen expression slid over her face and she inhaled a shaky breath and turned her attention towards me.

Dorothy - "I deserved that. Could we maybe talk?"

Her eyes skirted back towards Collin before nervously flicking it back to me.

"Now is not a good time. I was just about to leave."

Dorothy - "Then I'll walk with you."

She curled her hand around my arm as if she was trying to lay some sort of claim and followed me out into the hallway. Leaving Collin trailing silently behind.

Dorothy - " I missed you, Peter. You left so suddenly. And to think we almost..."

She tried to lean in for a quick kiss but I grabbed her chin with my fingers and held her still instead. Her heart pounded and she tried to pull back slightly but I held her still. Her jasmine scent was bearable so this time I took my time to really look at her.

Dorothy looked good in her tight fitting corset and short skirt. Physically nothing about her had changed. Her scent wasn't as strong and no longer enticed anything from me. Actually very little about her called to me. Except her uncanny resemblance to Lizabeth. Doppelganger or not, Drogo had been right. Nothing happened with Dorothy because of Zeva.

"Nothing will happen between us. You think I trust you after what you did?"

I looked away from Dorothy to check on how far Collin had gotten. Thankfully he had already crossed the football field towards his minivan. He had kept his head down, staying clear of the jocks who were busy looking at the cheerleaders new routine.

Loans eyes lifted through the crowd and lifted his lip in disgust as we locked eyes. When his eyes shifted focus on Dorothy, I could only guess what he had seen. He didn't even spare Samantha a glance but excused himself from the game.

I watched as he sat a brisk pace towards the other side of campus. Straight towards Zeva, who was sitting alone on a bench. Shit! What time was it? Without giving a second thought I removed Dorothy's hand, dropping it at her side.

"I have to go. We will discuss this later."
