It's been hours since my 'explaining' with Nicolae had ended. Despite my mishap, Nicolae was intent on having her stay. Finding a nanny for Lorie was already a challenge. Bottom line, She was staying. Now I was going to have to figure out how to deal with it and somehow get back to my routines.
I had already managed to avoided all the rooms that I knew she frequented, and devised a rout to avoid her whenever her scent got to close. And so far I had succeeded. I sat down on my usual spot and rested my fingers on the marble white keys. But no matter where I looked, I couldn't find a piece that I wanted to play and it was making me agitated. Maybe I needed space to gather my thoughts and fully clear my head from all this energy that I felt was consuming me.
Taking out a blank sheet of paper I began writing everything and anything that popped into my head. By the evening the next day my room looked like Lorie had a confetti day, when I realized the theme.
Why was I wasting my time on her?
She was human.
Nothing good could ever come from it.
A cold shiver ran down me and my ear twitched. As if someone had snuck up behind me, a whisper behind my ear.
She had agreed to see Loan.
ARGHH!
The pent up energy found a release and I flipped my book into the air, scattering my notes everywhere.
Great, now I have to clean. Annoyed at the mess I made I bent down. The vibrations of the wood panels told me what my ears had already picked up on, someone walking around. What was she doing?
Lorie - " PETER ! there you are!"
Lories excitedly runs in. I made an umph sound as she collided with me for an embrace making me drop the papers again.
"Where else would I be?"
I pet her little head before returning to cleaning up my mess . Lorie gives me a pouty face, before dancing around the floor, trying to avoid the scattered paper.
Lorie - " I don't know... But I need you."
"Want me to play something?"
I smiled at her, hopeful, but Lorie just shook her head. Her big pink curly hair bouncing everywhere in thier ringlets.
Lorie - " No. I need you to talk to Nicolae for me."
"Lorie you know if he said no then it is for a very good reason."
Lorie - "But...Peter! A boy at my school is having a birthday party and he says I'm not invited! It's not fair! Everyone is going to wear pretty dresses and eat a fancy cake! He said so! But Nicolae says I can't go. It's not fair! so I can I make my own party with an even bigger cake?!"
I tried not to let my frown show, as I let the hopeful girl down gently. If I knew Lorei, then the birthday party she wanted to plan would definitely be something people of Mystery Spell school board would talk about for years to follow.
"Lorie.. Nicolae is right. And what would you do with a cake? You know we can't eat it."
Just then we both heard someone hollering Lories name. The feminine voice causes us both to look at each other.
"Sounds like Ziva is looking for you. You better go see what she wants."
Lorie - "Why does she have to yell? It's not like I'm deaf. She could just come up here."
"It's her day off. Maybe she found something for you?"
She wrinkled her nose and rolled her eyes as she left my room and I went back to tidying up my room. I was just about complete, and feeling somewhat myself again when I felt Nicolae mindlinking me.
(Peter) - Niclolae
(What you want Nicolae?)
(I need you downstairs) - Nicolae
Just my luck. Grudgingly I get up and headed down the stairs at Nicolaes request when I came face to face with her. Staring at me with those big blue doe-like eyes, I could see she wanted something from me. But What does she want from me? What could she be looking for? I could feel my frustration finally peaking, when she opened her pretty little mouth.
Ziva - "Peter, why did you leave the mythology class so quickly yesterday? Did the subject made you feel uncomfortable?"
The hell? I blinked, trying not to look too shocked. No one should have noticed me leaving yet she was talking about me leaving Professor Jones class.
"The subject wasn't interesting."
I kept my voice even and my answers short. Think of her like a plague, I tried to remind myself, but I was I couldn't look away from those Oceanic blue orbs of hers. They were so vibrant in color and life... One could lose themselves in the vast variety of blue that the displayed.
Ziva - "I'd like to know more about you, Peter."
Her sudden blundt words had me instantly crashing back to reality and on alert. I knew of someone else who had used those very same words. Not with me of course but the results were disastrous all the same.
"Aren't you interested in Drogo or Nicolae, why would you want to learn more about me? There's nothing interesting to know about my life."
I watched as her eyes darted at the mentioned my brothers names. An agitation boiled within me but I buried it it deep, hiding it the calmness of my voice. If I could gain her interests elsewhere maybe I could compelled her focus elsewhere. That way maybe she'd let me be and move onto something else.
Ziva - "You really are different from your brothers, and it's that contrast that makes me want to know you more."
What the hell? I was sure her main focus was either Nicolae or Drogo. Feeling a little agitated, I slowly entered her mind. The picture of Drogo all smug with his bad boy attitude and the gentleman Nicolae were the only ones I could see.
"You're an enigma to me. You're not like other girls."
I watched for her reaction. I had no clue what to do. This little human girl had me at a stand still, just by looking at me. I watched as She swayed a little before she found her voice, not once breaking our glare.
Ziva - "And how are other girls?"
Her voice was so soft and so unsure that before I realized it, I had taken a step closer, bending down slightly to her eye level.
"Usually girls go for the bad boy Drogo or the gentleman Nicolae. Usually, I don't interest them."
I whispered needing to reassure her and not understanding why that need had arose. Her eyes seemed to brighten, drawing me in. Just standing in her usual shirt and jeans, Ziva was definitely a beauty to behold. Her golden hair cascaded down her her back, with only a few strand roaming away. A few crossed her exposed neck, and clinging to her delicate skin.
When I noticed her heart rate had doubled, I snapped out of my trance and realized what I had been doing. I was almost towering over her and my canines were starting to grow. Quickly I turned around, before they would show. I couldn't risk letting her in on what we were. Those pure, innocent eyes, should never see that the world can be full of monsters.
"You're not ready for what's waiting for you here. If I were you I'd leave before it's too late ..."
I quickly retreated back to my room. A part of me not wanting to hear her reply. The other, hoping she would not pursue.
