Chapter 22 Part 1

Stretching from my slumber, I already figures I hit snooze once too many times already. Monday! It's the end of the weekend, time to go back to college!

Slowly I let my fingers' caress me face reminding myself of the weekend.  A smile is immediately felt on my face, I'm in a rather good mood... and I wonder why!

Feeling good, I walk over and open the curtains to my window were I am greeted by the sun.

In addition, it's nice out!

I close my eyes and take a deep breath soaking in some vitamin D. Sunny weather is so rare at Mystery Spell that this makes me even happier. I soak in the sun's rays as I look around and catch myself in the mirror feeling a strange sensation. Putting my hair behind my ear I nibble on my lip. Strangely, I really want to look good today...

Turning my attention to my wardrobe quickly discarded my nightwear and looked at my options. How should I dress for a day like this?

My mind quickly narrowed it down to one of two choices: A cute pair of shorts that could go with a blue top. Very sporty. Or a pretty floral dress. Attractive and cute!

Setting my hair in a ponytail, I spin around loving the feel as the dress spun with me. I love flowers, and I love wearing them on me!

Taking the stairs two at a time, I rush out of my room like I often do. Yep, I definitely hit the snooze too many times because I'm not really on time... like at all.

Just as I'm about to leave I notice Peter waiting on the steps outside.

Like every time I see him, my heart starts beating faster. Even he seemed nervous as he almost shied away when our eyes connected. Is it me he's waiting for?

Peter -"I wanted to apologize for my sister yesterday, she's sometimes a little invasive."

Just thinking about yesterday was enough to make me blush. Lorie might have ended it before anything could actually happen but there is no way I will let something like that taint our evening. Giving Peter a sweet smile, I shrug my shoulders, looking on the bright side.

"She's a little girl... I've just arrived here, I guess it's normal that she still sees me as an intruder. I'm sure that in a few weeks time I'll be in her good books!"

Peter smiles at me, visibly relieved by my reaction. It warms my heart. I know that he cares a lot about Lorie. Giving Peter one last look I start to head off, more in a hurry than before.

Peter -"Do you want us to go to college together?"

My feet grind to a halt. It's been almost a month now that I've been here, and this is the first time he offers to go with me! Suddenly I don't care about being late. Way to go Zeva!

"Yes, I'd love to!"

I can't help but have a slight bounce in my step as we made our way down the sidewalk. We walk in comfortable silence, when the sun hits my eyes, temporarily blinding me. Lifting my hand to block it, I realize something's bugging me.

"I was wondering ... You're a vampire, right? Isn't the sun a problem for you?..."

Peter hesitates a little before answering me, giving me an annoyed pout.

"Let's say it's not our best ally.. It makes us weaker ..."

"How much weaker?"

He looks at me with a mischievous smile, and I cannot help but smile back.

Peter -"Why do you want to know that kind of stuff? Are you planning on eliminating us?"

I would have panicked if the idea wasn't so absurd.
