Betty POV
"God dammit Betty... You just have to play Nancy Drew, don't you? Have to blow everything up because you know your happiness is an act. I know you, I know you'll always been miserable. It's one of the thing we have in common, remember?"
He brought his eyes to mine. It was like he was a different person. Like the venom that was just spewed didnt come from his lips.
"You're a monster..." He turned away from me "Are you fucking kidding me?! You cheated, you ruined everything." I brought my head closer to his trying to receive the decency of looking me in the eyes "Coward."
His face went blank like he was unsure of what he was going to do next.
"How could you Jughead? I know we've had ups and downs but I didn't think you hated me, were embarrassed to be with me."
His eyes softened, "I could never hate you Betty. I love you."
"You have a weird way of showing it."
We just stared at each other for what felt like hours until he finally broke the silence.
"I love you Betty, only you."
"Really cause that's not what you said in the letters." my face staying flat as possible to keep my tears from breaking through.
"DAMMIT BETTS, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY I'M SORRY?"
"THAT'S THE FIRST TIME YOU'VE SAID 'I'M SORRY' THIS ENTIRE CONVERSATION JUGHEAD."
"BETTS COME ON. I LOVE YOU AND YOU KNOW THAT. I LOVE YOU. I ALWAYS HAVE AND I ALWAYS WILL..."
"THEN WHY HAVE YOU SAID YOU LOVE HER SO MANY TIMES AND WHY WOULD YOU TELL HER THAT I'M A MESS. YOU LITERALLY BLEW ME OFF SO YOU COULD GO TO NEW YORK WITH HER"
He cut me off, "I MADE A MISTAKE OK? WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?"
I don't know how to respond. I don't think I want to hear him say anything else.
Both of our faces softened and we shared the silence until I said... "I'm leaving, and I'm taking Juliet with me."
He threw his glass to the ground, "THE HELL YOU ARE."
