Cont...

Aaliyah

I approached the door quietly, grabbing a knife off the counter.

The knock happened again and I dont kmow why I gasped.

"Aaliyah?" I know that voice anywhere.

I immediately snatched the door open and fell into Aubree's arms.

"I cannot keep doing this!" I sobbed.

"Whoa, what-whats going on?" He rubbed my back.

"I-I-I.." I broke down, unable to find the words.

Everytime my life gets better, something makes it even worse than it was before.

"Let's go inside." He whispered.

I nodded and he slowly walked in, closing the door behind him.

He took a seat and pulled me into his lap.

"When you're overwhelmed, you can't communicate." Aubree continued to run small circles in my back.

He was right. I've always been that way.

I felt myself calming down.

"No." I protested when I felt his grip loosen. "Hold me tight."

Aubree never replied but tightened his grip on me.

I nuzzled closer to him, as if I could, we were already as close as we could be.

"What do you need me to do to make you feel better?" He whispered.

Thoughts of Aubree killing Tevin for me like he did Mike crossed my mind.

And it has already been proven that Aubree will kill for me.

I couldn't bring myself to actually ask him to, I'll allow him to say it himself.

I sat up and looked him in his eyes.

He wiped away a tear that slipped down my cheek.

"Okay." I wiped my face one good time before I began. "Mike's brother--"

"Tevin or Romeo?" He almost immediately asked.

"T-Tevin." I responded.

He let out a chuckle but I could see his whole demeanor changed.

"It's already done." He clenched his jaw.

"I didn't e--"

"It's my fault. I should've handled him too off rip but I didn't.. I'm sorry I allowed someone to put fear in you again." He looked away from me.

Everything was quiet for a moment.

"Did he put his hands on you, threaten you, what?" He finally asked.

I told him the whole encounter from start to finish.

"You want me to handle this or send him away?" He asked, pulling out his phone.

I wanted Tevin dead.

Sending him away wouldn't be enough to allow me to sleep at night.

"What's best?" I asked.

"Up to you baby girl, I send people away when I know they won't ever pose a threat again but if I even think they'll come back, I kill them." He spoke so casually like this was something he does quite often.

I sat there contemplating.

I didn't want to be responsible for his murder but did he want to kill me or just scare me?
