Electricity

You have enough electricity
Inisde you to power
A 4.0 light bulb for 24 hours
So why aren't the firefly embers
In your eyes glowing?
Are you really going to allow
A person to steal your ability
To light up your own life?

7:40am...

Aubree

I came out of the bathroom, fully dressed.

"Good morning baby." I walked over to our bed that Aaliyah was now sitting up in.

"Morning." She mumbled.

I kissed her on her forehead.

"You're leaving?" She asked, throwing the cover off of her body.

The only thing covering her was my t-shirt.

"I gotta make a quick run." I told her.

"I should've known you were going to leave eventually." She mumbled.

I helped her stand on her feet and into the bathroom.

"Aubree." She smacked her lips. "Leave like you planned on doing while I was asleep."

"I just wanna help, baby." I eased her down on the toilet.

Aaliyah has been snapping lately and all I wanna do is help; I've done everything she has asked me to do, I help her, I stay in all night, I've been back and forth from her office to get her things, I've been going nonstop but I do have a business that I have to tend to as well.

"Baby, it's seven in the morning, you usually don't want up until like nine so I thought I could slide out for a bit." I sighed.

"Okay well slide." She finished up on the toilet and washed her hands.

I sighed, not knowing what to do.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked as I turned on her shower water and adjusted it to her liking while she brushed her teeth.

"Leave, like you wanted to." She told me.

I shook my head and walked out without another word.

What the fuck is her problem.

"You're really going to leave?!" She yelled from behind me.

I stopped but never turned around.

"Yeah?" I called over my shoulder.

I decided against waiting for her response and quickly leaving.

I grabbed all my stuff and left out.

I locked the house up and got in my whip.

I pulled onto the road and turned my music on, vibing the whole way to the trap.
