-- Aubree in the MM.

I have never met a man

That I wanted to be his wife

And then he came along,

it's so natural to make a life

'Cause he's a perfect compliment,

'cause I'm a boss in my world

But when we're together,

he just makes me feel like his girl

He's givin' me love, so steady

He touches my heart, now I'm ready

He touches my soul and my spirit

He's givin' me love, so steady

8:00pm...

Aaliyah

I smiled as the host called out all the nominees for the 'Winning Year' award.

"Now, the person that has definitely had a winning year.." He trailed off as he pulled a small paper out of his pocket.

"Mrs. Aaliyah Davenport." He announced.

Claps and cheers came from everywhere.

I stood as I smiled and walked onstage to accept my award.

"Anything you would like to say?" He stepped aside and gestured for me to speak on the mic.

"Well, I'm not really good at this but.." I trailed off, thinking of what to say. "Do whatever makes you feel good inside. Yeah, we got jobs, that's why we're all sitting here but what really makes you happy? Even if it won't pay the bills, you gotta do what makes you happy and never lose sight of that. Thank y'all so much for thinking of me and honoring me with this award." I smiled.

Everyone cheered again as I went to take my seat.

I put it on the table with my other four awards.

While this night was full of love and good vibes, something was missing.

My two favorite people were missing and it was definitely making for a long night.

Ari had a test she needed to cram for so she couldn't make it.

Jas and I still haven't talked.

While I've been staying busy with work, I need my girl.

One of us usually cracks by now, I just knew she would still show up tonight but I guess she decided this wasn't important enough for her to push our differences to the side.

I pushed the thoughts away as Lance came back with our drinks.

"You alright?" He asked, obviously noticing my energy shift.
