Madeline's POV
I joined the sisters and nurses at the table.
"So did you enjoy your first day?" Trixie asked.
"Very much so, thank you" I smiled shyly at Trixie.
"She was a natural" sister Julienne smiled at me "she even got Olive Smith to talk to her" sister Julienne said.
"Really? How on earth did you manage that? She never says more than two sentences" Trixie asked bewildered. I shrugged my shoulders in response.
"She's a natural with children that's how" sister Julienne sang my praises making me blush shyly.
"All I did was speak to her" I said downplaying what sister Julienne said.
"Well I must see her in action may I steal her from you sister Julienne" Trixie asked.
"You may she is a asset to have on our side" sister Julienne smiled again at me.
A little while later
Trixie and sister Huxley mounted their bicycles and headed towards their patient.
A few minutes later, they arrived at their patients home.
"We will be visiting Mrs Seawall" Trixie said grabbing her bag off the bike.
I followed her up the stairs to the filthy landing to number 16.
"Midwife calling" Trixie opened the door and called into the flat.
"In here nurse" Mrs Seawall called from inside the flat.
"Hello Mavis" Trixie smiled at her.
"Hello nurse Franklin I swear this will be the last one" she smiled.
"If I know you Mavis and I do I know you said that 5 children ago" Trixie laughed making her laugh.
"Mom I'm bored" six children none older than 10 complained.
"Well I know this amazing game we can play how does that sound?" I said kneeling down to speak to them.
"YAY!" They all exclaimed.
Trixie smiled at me before I went downstairs to entertain the children whilst Trixie worked in peace.
30 minutes later
Trixie came downstairs and smiled towards me telling me it was time to go. I said goodbye to the children before heading over to Trixie.
"Having fun are we?" Trixie asked smiling as I loaded my bag onto my bike.
"Yes I rather am enjoying myself" I smiled at her mounting my bike.
"Well just don't let sister Evangeline see you" Trixie smiled at me before cycling off with me following.
