Chapter 15

I pushed my bicycle back onto the rack sighing. It had been a long day and there was no point in rushing because I was already 3 hrs late for dinner. I walked inside Nonnatus house and made my way towards the medical room. I put my equipment into the autoclave and made my way to the living room.
"Hello sister" sister julienne smiled at me. I collapsed into one of the arm chairs with a loud sigh.
"Hello sister" I said.
"Long day?" She asked whilst working on her handy craft.
"Very long sister" I said huffing again.
"Sister Monica Joan saved you a plate of food in the oven" she smiled at me.
My eyes widened "thank you so much sister" I said jumping out of the chair and heading towards the oven making all the sisters laugh other than sister Evangelina. I sat down at the kitchen table digging into my meal, eating fast as if someone was going to steal the food from me. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. 
"It's only me" Timothy called as he entered Nonnatus. I quickly wiped my mouth on the napkin removing any traces of food from my face.
"Hello Dr Turner" I smiled at him standing up from the table.
"Please finish your meal sister I just wanted to make sure that you made it back safe from your last delivery" he smiled at me as I sat back down at the table.
"Safe and sound" I smiled.
"Alright then I shall leave you to your meal" he smiled.
"I'll see you out" I smiled standing up again and following him to the door. I said goodbye and made my way back to the dinning room table. 
"That was very nice of the doctor to drop by" Sister Hilda smiled.
"Yes, it was very kind of him" I said resuming my meal.
"Please forgive sister Hilda she has spent to much time with Trixie" sister Mary-Cynthia said shooting sister Hilda a glare.
"She meant no harm sister" I said smiling at sister Hilda.
"I understand where she's coming from" sister Evangelina mumbled as they all resumed their handy crafts.

The next morning
I packed my equipment neatly away into my bag waiting for sister Evangelina's marching orders.
"Nurse Crane your on district, nurse Franklin, sister Frances and sister Hilda you are all checking over our due and just had mothers" she said closing the work book.
"What about me sister" I said.
"Sister julienne wants you in her office" she said as if I were a naughty school child caught in the act. "Now" she said after I didn't move causing me to sprint quickly towards her office. I knocked loudly on the solid wooden door.
"Come in" sister julienne called from inside her office.
"Hello sister you wanted to see me?" I said entering the office closing the door behind me.
"Yes I just wanted to tell you that we will be sending you to the maternity home" she smiled at me.
"Of course sister" I smiled at her. I was going to spend the whole day with Timothy, what fun we will have working together.
