After sister julienne comforted me, I prayed asking for what I always do the lord's forgiveness. I joined the others for breakfast smiling at sister julienne.
Sister julienne leaned over and tucked a piece of my hair that had fallen out back under my wimple and I smiled at her again. We all ate our breakfast laughing and smiling.
The telephone began to ring and I got up quickly to answer it.
"Nonnatus house midwife speaking" I said grabbing a pencil and paper.
"My waters broke and I'm all alone" she cried down the phone.
"Please tell me your name and address" I said calmly.
"Mrs leverson 103 Queens road" she said.
"Alright I will be there as fast as I can now go home and get as comfortable as possible" I said hanging the phone up and grabbing my bag.
"Mrs leverson" I said to the others before running out to get my bike.

5 minutes later
I parked my bike against the wall of the building before climbing the stairs to reach her apartment.
"Midwife calling" I called into the apartment.
"Hello sister" she said panting.
"Hello Mrs leverson look at this, the children are all ready for school and by the looks of it the baby is on its way nicely" I smiled at her and the children. I placed my bag down and checked her over.
"Very nice Mrs leverson" I smiled at her.
"I'm just going to run to the telephone with the children" I smiled at her placing one hand onto the pram and the other inside the youngest hand. The three of us walked to the telephone and they all waited outside of the box whilst I called Dr Turner.
"Hello Dr Turner speaking"
"Hello Dr it's sister Huxley"
"Oh hello sister"
"Hello I'm afraid I'm going to need assistance, the mother is Mrs leverson and she has a very narrow pelvis and the children need taking to school and no one else can do it" I told him.
"I will be right there" he said.
"Ok thank you Dr" I said hanging up the phone and heading back inside.

5 minutes later
The doctor arrived taking over from me and I left quickly with the children to get them to school. We walked as fast as we could almost running to the school. We entered the classroom and I mouthed an apology to the teacher and she followed me out telling the children to continue with there task.
"Sorry the child is late miss Jenkins" I muttered.
"It's ok sister, is she in labour?"
"Yes very" I said smiling before I said goodbye and headed back to Mrs leverson and the doctor.
I pushed the pram through the front door shouting to the doctor that I was back. I gave the smiling toddler a piece of cheese and bread before taking my coat and hat off and heading into the bedroom.
"Hello Mrs leverson how's baby coming along?" I asked her smiling.
She huffed.
"Very well sister this little one will be here any minute" Timothy smiled at me.
"Let's get to work then" I smiled at them both.
