Each night Madeline found some excuse to give the nuns and nurses so that she could go and see Timothy. And after four days of waiting she was now waiting in the living room for Sophie to arrive at Nonnatus.
"Nervous?" Trixie smiled.
"I've never been more nervous" Madeline admitted.
The doorbell rang and Madeline shot up onto her feet but Sister Julienne made a gesture telling her to take a breath whilst she answered the door.
"Madeline, there's someone here to meet you" Sister Julienne smiled as she rounded the corner once again. As she moved into the living room Sophie appeared behind her with Sister Geraldine, but Madeline didn't have time to thank her before Sophie was running for her.
"Mommy!" She smiled widely as she threw herself into Madeline's arms. She swept the little girl up into her arms and hugged her tightly.
"How do you know who I am?" The little girl released her from her arms and reached into her pocket, handing her a picture. Madeline studied the picture that the nuns from the mother house took of her before she became a postulant.
"I gave it to her. You always said that you were going to find her. I didn't stop believing that, not even for a second" Sister Geraldine smiled.
"Thank you sister. I am forever indebted to you"
"No need. I always knew that you would come back to her"
"It's impossible to live with a part of you missing" Madeline smiled at her daughter.
"I was waiting mommy"
"So was I sweet girl" Sophie smiled brightly.Later that day Madeline and Sophie met Timothy at the park. After hours of playing and Madeline soaking in her daughters joy, the three of them headed back to Nonnatus house which had a very full living room.
"What's going on here then?" Trixie teased with a knowing smirk.
"We took Sophie to the park" Timothy answered earning a smile from Madeline.
"Young love cannot be stifled. Nor a first kiss stopped" Sister Monica Joan added, earning a blush from the pair.
"Timothy Turner!"
"It was just on her cheek mum" He assured her.
"Leave him be, Shelagh. He's becoming a man" Patrick smiled, taking her hand in his before he turned to his son "Like father like son" He smirked.
"Patrick!" Shelagh blushed.
"Are you going to be my daddy?" Sophie asked as she looked up at Tim. He knelt down so that he could meet her eyes before he took her hands in his.
"I would like to be one day, if its okay with your mom" The pair looked up at Madeline.
"Can he mommy?"
"We'll have to see if we like him first" She teased lightly.
"You already do, we've all seen how you look at him" Trixie teased, making her blush even redder.
