Madeline smiled at everyone. She tried to memorize everyone's names as best she could.
"Ok try again" the girl that answered the door to her smiled at her.
"Ok so we have sister Monica-joan, sister julienne, sister Evangelina, Trixie also known as nurse Franklin, Mrs Sheila Turner, sister Mary-Cynthia, nurse Phyllis Crane, sister Hilda and sister Francis" she said pointing at all the women sat round the table, getting all their names right.
"Finally you've got all the names right" Trixie laughed.
"There are a lot of us here" Phyllis smiled at her politely.
"There is indeed" she agreed.
"Now nurse Franklin why don't you show sister Huxley to her room" sister Julienne smiled politely at us both.
"Follow me dear" Trixie smiled at her and stood up from the table to lead Madeline to her room. Trixie picked up her suitcase and assended the stairs to show her to her room.
"You'll be in here with me" Trixie said opening the door, entering the room and placing her suitcase on the non-vaccent bed.
"How do you like it?" Trixie asked taking a seat on her bed.
"It's delightful" she smiled politely at her.
"Seeing as your a nun, we would usually give you a room to yourself but we're rather close to capacity I'm afraid" Trixie apologized.
"It's fine really, I don't mind sharing" she smiled at her placing some spare habits into a drawer.
"Well then I'll leave you be for now" Trixie smiled at her one last time before leaving the room, closing the door behind her.
Madeline picked up the book out of her suitcase and sat on the bed. She traced the words on the cover 'The revelations of divine love.' She opened the book and took out a picture of a baby tracing her finger along the side of the child's face lovingly.
"One day I will find you again" she whispered quietly. She placed the photo back into the pages of the book and placed it on the table next to her bed with other books taken from her suitcase stacked on top. She picked the suitcase up and placed it inside of the wardrobe closing the doors firmly shut when someone knocked lightly on her door. The door opened to reveal sister Mary-Cynthia smiling at her.
"Sorry to bother you sister but work begins and you'll be with Sister Julienne" she smiled widely at her.
"Thank you Sister" she smiled at her and followed her to the surgical room to be given a medical bag. Her work in poplar was beginning today.
