Chapter 19: Noah

I gulped as walked to the coffin of my previous life. Luna Jackson, what to make of my previous life.

Alec left a makeshift shrine to her with vanilla scented candles and newspaper articles, magazine covers and photos of everything she did when she was alive.

*The Luna Jackson Interview: How did a 14 year old and her group of friends stop the witch wars?*

*Luna Jackson (16), given youngest degree ever in Cryptozoology*

*Luna Jackson defends the radical hero Alec Sakurai*

Luna had a very bright future, she was a hero, a pure elemental, she made brilliant strides in the fields of Cryptic Science, but then came the cause of her life crashing down on her. She fell in love with Alec Sakurai.

At the time, hybrids of any kind were strictly illegal. So they couldn't be together. One day, Luna told Alec of her dream, a world were hybrids were legal, witches and elementals could be friends, etc.

Biggest mistake of her life.

Alec started the Shadow Crusades, killing thousands of people on both sides in the process. Luna had torn apart by this. Alec was never satisfied with how many people he killed. Luna wanted him to stop the war so many times but he kept insisted they both needed this, so they could be together.

Some people to this day wonder if the radical hero actually loved Luna or if he just used her as an excuse to conquer the colonies.

I gulped as Iain went behind me. “You ok?”

“I just keep thinking… about Luna. Her life, how I may never be able to live up to that legacy.” I admitted.

“Well Luna did indirectly cause the Shadow crusades. Even if she didn't mean it, she still fucked up. At least your past life didn't kill off four heroes and start a war. ” Iain reminded me.

I cracked a smile. “Yeah your right. Quick question, you wouldn't happen to know how long it took exactly for you to be reborn would you?”

“About a month? Why?”

“Well,” I paused. “I know I was born sometime this month, but I don't know my real birthday. And if we're gonna die… I'd like to find out beforehand.”

Nikki, Zoey, Iain and Imogen hugged me. We turned around and the rest of the group was unconscious, though Morpheus was just asleep on ground.

I gasped as I heard the footsteps. I felt a chill up my spine and I didn't know why. I saw flashes of memories but they weren't mine.

_“When does it end?!?!”_

_”When all of them are dead!!! Luna, understand. What I'm doing, it's for us.”_

_”Will you ever be satisfied Alec? Everything you've done, is it all worth it?” Luna sobbed._

I felt Luna's fear. She may have loved him but she also feared him. Not because she was afraid of him, because of what he became. Luna was right. He would never be satisfied.

Alec was walking towards us, clapping slowly. He was shadowless. No, his shadow had reformed and was covering every inch of the walls. One wrong move and he'd kill us.

He wasn't Eldingar.

He wasn't Elissa.

He wasn't like everyone we'd face before.

Why?

He was the radical hero with nothing to lose. And that's what made him dangerous. He had nothing to lose.

“Tell us why we shouldn't kill you right this second?” Iain yelled.

“Aside from the fact that I can kill you before I could give you the chance? For starters, I'm not the bad guy you think I am.” Alec commented.

“You teamed up with the guy who blew up our school.” Nikki muttered.

“Excellent point… however, I'll tell you who the real enemy is. Her!” Alec protested.

Imogen gulped as he had pointed at her.

“Me? He's mental!!” Imogen panicked.

“Well not you directly, its people like you! Pure Elementals who insist upon making yourselves first class. It's Witches who don't have the balls to stand up for themselves, it's Lycans who are constantly eating people!”

“Hey!” Iain snarled.

“That aside… when I'm done with Acruxia, people will realize their sins. I'll force them to make everyone equal. It'll be a Hybrids world with Shadow in charge!” Alec cheered.

“But aren't you being a little hypocritical, since your a pure elemental yourself?” Nikki questioned.

“My Elemental status aside, I didn't come back here for you. I didn't even come back for Zoey who just betrayed me for a lycan. No, I came for her!”

I gulped as he pointed at me.

“You might asking why should I bother with the reincarnation of the love of my life? You may a weak imitation but I do know potential when I see it. I'm not one to miss potential. Just look at Zoey, I got her to use Black Gold and look at the progress, she even crippled the polymorph, she was useful even though she left me.”

“You already have the city, what more could want?” I demanded.

Alec grinned. “Why that's easy my dear Noah. You.”

I froze as he grabbed my wrist, wrapping his arm around my tight stomach. He bit my right ear until a drop of blood dripped and he licked it.

“I want all of you. Your body, your heart, your soul. You took my Luna, so I'll take you instead.” Alec whispered.

Before he could continue, the door suddenly broke down. I smiled instantly when I saw who it was.

“Get your hands off my Noah!” Jace growled, katana at the ready.
