One More Kiss

Veronica's POV

I woke up with a smile on my face and nothing in the world for Jughead. Sweet Pea comforted me last night over the phone . It may just be me or the fact that it was 11:30, but I think he's the only person like actually cares for me. Cheryl and Toni don't try and do anything to help me not be upset. And like Sweet Pea said Jughead's an ass. But, Sweet Pea is the best guy friend I could ever have. Well, that's the problem. He sees me as a soon to be girlfriend and I see him as a friend. I mean Yea I may have kissed him last night and they were the best kisses I've ever had, but that'd just be using him as a rebound, and I don't feel like hurting him because it would hurt me, too. I care about him too much. And he cares about me and my feelings. Okay, I'm ranting about this guy.

I got out of bed and got changed. I have to go to school today and guess who I have to see. Jughead. The person I thought I loved, but don't. Not anymore. I sighed and walked out of my room and downstairs to see Cheryl and Toni standing in the middle of the living room. "Oh, good. You're up!" Cheryl said walking over to me. "Yeah?" "We need to talk." She said. "About what?" I asked. "You and Sweet Pea." Toni said. "What about us? We're just friends." I told them once again. "We understand that, but--" Toni started, but was cut off by Cheryl. "But if you make a dumb decision and decide to date him and he breaks your heart like Jughead did and like all the other hearts he's broken, we won't be sorry." She said like it was nothing. "Well, now I know if I'm loved or not. And I'd rather date him because he comforted me last night." I told them. "So, that's who you were talking to!" Toni said. "Yes, and he's being more of a friend right now them you two are. Now if you'll excuse me I need to get to school." I said and walked out of the house walked all the way to school.

When I got there I walkd into the students lounge Cheryl and Toni were in there. "How the fuck did you two beat me here?" I asked. "You walked. We have a car, duh." Cheryl said. I rolled my eyes. "Bye." I said and walked away.

I went to my locker and found Sweet Pea standing there. I sighed to myself. I smiled at him. "Hey." He said. "Hi." I replied. I opened my locker and he just stood there watching me. "Are you trying to be creepy right now?" I asked jokingly. "No, I'm admiring your beautiful face." He said and caressed my cheek. My face started to heat up a bit.  I looked over and saw Jughead looking at us. He quickly looked away when he realized I was looking at him. I looked back at Sweet Pea. "Don't freak out. Just trust me." I said and pulled him into a kiss. Yep! I'm trying to make Jughead jealous. I can say that now. He kissed back. It was long. Maybe a bit to long for my liking. I pulled away and he smiled. I looked over at Jughead who rolled his eyes and walked away. I knew people were looking at us. "You over Jughead?" He asked. I nodded. "Uhh, yes, actually I am. You wanna meet up at Pop's later?" I asked. "Absolutely." She said. "Great! Pick me up at eight." I said. "Will do. See you then." He said and walked off. I sighed and shut my locker. Yep! He's my rebound. Great! I'm a disappointment.
