For just almost getting mugged or whatever those drunks from the ally had wanted to do to me, I was surprisingly calm. Afterwards I had just kept walking to Peters like nothing had happened. I walk up to Peter's apartment and knock on the door. An adult woman answers. She looks like she's in her late 30's, but I'm not sure.
"Oh hello, you must be Emma. Peter left for a minute, but he'll be back soon. You can wait in his room." She says kindly.
"Thank you." I walk into the small room that she pointed to. It had an old bed and desk. Clothes were strewn everywhere and the desk was occupied by a very old computer. Well, I can add messiness to one of his few flaws. I think. Geez, it stinks in here, smells like Caleb's room. I sit down at the small desk, pulling out the school laptop. Hmm, I wonder... I go to the news and search for Spider-Boy. I was surprised by how much stuff there was. Who is Spider-Man? Why has Spider-Man come to NY? How old is Spider-Man? What is all this junk? Its like people are fangirling about him. That's weird, he could be some super old dude that sounds like... Peter? Wait, what? I think back to the ally. He had sounded just like Peter. Could Spider-Man be Peter? No... but what if... no, they are nothing alike! I stand up. The thought of Peter being Spider-Man stressing me out. I look at the time, it was 7:10. Geez Peter, come on. I don't want to walk home alone in the dark at midnight! Do you have any idea how creepy that is! I want to get this over with. I jump as I hear the door open and Peter walks in dripping with sweat. "Where were you? The gym?" I say, wrinkling my nose. "You stink!"
"Sorry I just had to run to the um... the grocery store." he stutters
"But didn't you already go to the grocery store after school?" I say suspiciously
"U-um... Yeah, but I had to go again."
"Ookay... Well, let's get started." I say, pressing some keys and pulling the slide show up.

I take a deep breath and lean back in the chair, looking at the five slides Peter and I had finished in the past two hours. We argued quite a lot in those last two hours about random stuff that had nothing to do with the project. Ms. May came in a few times to see if we needed help, but that was it.
"Sooo, why'd you go to the store?" He looks at me, confused.
"What are you talking about?" I roll my eyes.
"When you showed up late and said you had gone to the store?" Does he have amnesia? I hope not, otherwise my grade is going down to zero.
"Oh yeah! Umm, I had to get a, umm, thing, for, uh, my aunt, and uh-"
"Never mind!" I say, turning back to the computer. I'm not in the mood to deal with his awkwardness today.
"Sorry, uh-"
"Nope. Let's just focus on the project." I look at him. There is no way he could be Spider-Man. Spider-Man is confident and put together. Peter is just a stuttering mess. But could he be Spider-Man? "No way."
"No way what?" Shoot, did I say that out loud?
"Umm, no way you could be Spider-Man!" Smooth, Emma. Real smooth.
"Y-y-yeah, no way..." He says uncomfortably. Why is he acting so weird? Is he actually Spider-Man?
"You're a really terrible liar, you know." He turns red. Way to confirm it, Peter.
"I-I-I'm not lying."
"Thanks for saving me."
"I didn't! I swear, I'm not Spider-Man. If I were, I would have told you that my name isn't Spider-Boy, it's Spider-Man..." He trails off, realizing that he just gave himself away.
"A-ha! You are Spider-Man! I was right!" I grin. He thought he could fool me! Well, he was wrong! Then I stop. Wait, so this stuttering mess of a teenager is the famous, brave, strong Spider-Man? I trusted him with my life!? Wait, he saved my life!
"Don't think that just because you saved my life I like you, got it!?" I say
"I-I didn't th-think that in the first place..." He stutters
"Good!" I say, louder than I meant to. Ms. May knocks on the door.
"Is everything okay in here?"
"Yeah, everything's good, May!" Peter calls.
"No, everything is not okay!" I whisper. "Okay, well, it's been lovely working with you but-"
"Wait, are you going to leave just because you learned I was Spider-Man?"
"What?! No! Why would I do that? I'm leaving because it's 9:30 and I have to walk home!" I say, standing up.
"Oh... sorry..."
"You should be!" I roll my eyes. "If I get kidnapped, I am suing Spider-Man for everything he's worth, got it?"
"What? I can't give you a personal escort every time you have to go somewhere!"
"You didn't give me a personal escort, I'm just blaming you for us having to work so late because somebody didn't get here on time!"
"I was ten minutes late!"
"So? I could have left ten minutes earlier!" I say as I put my stuff back in my backpack.
"It still would have been dark outside!" I don't have anything to say to that. So I slide my backpack on and walk out of his room.
"Bye Ms. May, thank you for letting me come over," I say as I open the door.
"Anytime!" She replies. As I walk out the door, I hear her ask Peter how it went.
"It was fine, May, seriously."
"Really? Cause she looked pretty angry when she left just now."
"Oh, it's cause the computer wasn't working right."
"Are you sure it wasn't because you were late? Did you leave to go do some hero stuff?" I snicker. Busted. Ms. May does not mess around.
"Umm, no, I'm sure that's not the reason." I hear Peter say.
"I'm pretty sure it is, Peter. Might want to apologize before school tomorrow if you want her to forgive you."
"May! It's just one project! I won't even see her again after this."
"You might."
"Fine. I'll apologize to her tomorrow or something."
"Good."
Ugh I don't want him to apologize to me he's going to be so awkward about it! I think as I walk out of the building. I suddenly realize that it's almost 10, and I'm still not home. Mom's going to be so mad! I think as I turn and run home.
