Why doesn't she understand that her boyfriend is a jerk? He is just using her! I stomp over to Tessa. Can't she see!? He is nothing but a stupid boy! They all are! Ugh, all this lovey-dovey stuff makes my head hurt! I groan. I was supposed to be looking for Cicily so we could go watch Tessa but had gotten a little distracted.
"Tessa! Let's go!" She was looking at the drama door but making no effort to get up. I don't know why she's being so weird.
"Do you mind if we wait a little bit longer?"
"Why?" I ask, frustrated.
"Peter Parker is outside, and if Jack sees us talking, he'll be really mad at me."
"Ugh! Why is your boyfriend so protective? He's not even here!"
"Because he loves me."
"Yeah right. No offense, but I'm pretty sure he is incapable of love."
"See, Emma? This is why you guys don't like each other! You never try to get to know each other!"
"I don't want to get to know the jerk who cheated on my best friend!" Why are you so stubborn!? I think.
"Please, can we just wait here till Peter's gone?" I roll my eyes.
"Nope! We're leaving now!" We walk out of the drama room. I glare at Peter as we walk past.
"Am I in trouble?" He loudly whispers to Tessa.
"Yes, Peter, you're in big trouble. It's all your fault." I say sarcastically. He looks shocked.
"Hey! Emma be nice!" Tessa exclaims.
"Come on Tessa!" I say in a singsong voice as I keep walking down the hall. I was starting to feel better. Yelling at people really helps get your anger out.
"Emma, why would you say that?" Tessa asks, catching up. "What if one of Jack's friends heard? What if they're telling him right now? What if he breaks up with me? Oh no." She stops and starts to shake. "What if he breaks up with me? Emma, what if he doesn't love me anymore? What if he's just looking for an excuse to break up with me?"
"You worry too much. You're making it sound like Jack has henchmen everywhere. I mean, I know he's evil, but seriously? Henchmen? That's a little creepy." She laughs.
"You're so good at that."
"At what, insulting your boyfriend? I already knew that, you don't need to tell me."
"No. At making me feel better. I could be having the worst day ever, and within seconds you're making me laugh and think that everything's okay again."
"I know, it's a gift," I said cooly.
"No! You always do that. Don't play it off! Accept the compliment."
"Mwahaha, never!" I duck out of the way as she tries to hit me. I smile, glad to see her happy again. See, you don't need that stupid jerk! Look how happy you are without him! Soon we find Cicily in a classroom, finishing some school work stuff. "Why are you working on that junk?" I asked, sneering at the papers.
"Um, maybe because I want to get into a good college?"
"And we don't?" I laugh. "You have some time to worry about all that. Have some fun!" I shove her playfully. "Now come on. Let's go! I want you to meet Caleb, Cicily."
