This is something that will be brought up a LOT this year so pay attention ;-)
You should never have to apologize for things like going to bed early, saying no, taking a break, etc. Yet people often do, and they try to avoid these things as much as possible. Why? Because they like to please others.
I'm guilty of this as well. It's easy to forget that our happiness is what's most important. We as society tend to lean towards the desires of others as opposed to those of our own.
But if you have power over your own happiness, why would you refuse it?
It's hard to function when you're unhappy. So your task today is to put yourself first. Go to sleep early. If you have a friend who's having a hard time, make an excuse and sleep. Eat chocolate. Take the bigger half of the cookie.
You'll be surprised how much it helps.
