It wasn't for another half an hour that Virgil learned exactly what had happened. Roman had guided him away from the melee as the bell rang. The journey was a blur but they had somehow ended up in Thomas's classroom with Patton and Logan following shorty after, the latter still with a furious look on his flushed face.

Virgil had sat numbly in the corner whilst Roman explained what had transpired, leaving it the part where he kissed him, with Logan and Patton cutting in occasionally. When they had finished Thomas was silent for a moment before he spoke.

"How are you know Virgil?" His voice was soft, contrasting sharply to the creased, angry features on his face.

Virgil opened his mouth but quickly closed it again and shook his head. He felt so drained and void that he couldn't even bring himself to speak.

"Ok," Thomas said, his voice maintaining its even, soothing tone. "I'll email your teacher. It's best you go home,"

Virgil nodded without looking up, choking back a sob that had built up in his throat.

Thomas then turned his attention to Roman, Patton and Logan. Logan had an arm around Patton and Roman's hand rested on Virgil's shoulder. The feeling was alien to him and he was unsure how to feel. He really needed to talk to the redhead but the thought was terrifying.

"I'll email your teachers to explain why you are late but you need to return to class," Thomas told the three boys.

There was an outburst of protests, quickly silenced at a quelling look from Thomas. With a drawn out sigh and one last encouraging look at Virgil they trailed from the room, the door closing with a soft click.

"So, are you going to tell me why all of this happened? You don't have to if you don't want to,"

Virgil wet his lips before answering  in a slow, hoarse voice. "I-it was s-something to d-do with Roman...I -d-don't wa-want to say w-what," he struggled to get the words out, stumbling over the boys name.

Thomas nodded understandingly and turned his attention to his computer, quickly typing what Virgil assumed was an email before getting to his feet.

"I'm going to go deal with Eve. Will you be alright for twenty minutes or so?"

Virgil nodded, forcing himself to form a small smile. He didn't like the thought of being left alone with his thoughts but he also couldn't handle a lesson right now.

Thomas quickly left the room and headed down the corridor, the click of his heels soon fading until Virgil was sitting in complete silence in the barren classroom. He swung his heels and sighed, resting his head against the wall behind him but quickly snapped it forward  when the door opened again. His shoulders immediately tensed when he saw that it was Roman who had slipped through the door and sat on the desk opposite him.
His mouth dried and he struggled to work any moisture into his into it in order to speak. This should be interesting.

"How are you doing? Honestly,"
Roman asked.

"S-shocked," Virgil croaked, quickly changing the subject, "Sh-shouldn't you b-be in c-class?"

Roman shrugged. "This is more important-" he took a deep breath continuing, "-listen I'm sorry if what I did was stupid or rash or made you uncomfortable-,"

Virgil cut him off, "I sh-should be a-apologising to y-you. I-it's my f-fault any of t-this even h-happened,"

Roman shook his head, "But I kissed you in front of a huge crowd and I know you don't like crowds and-,"

"You'r r-rambling. It d-doesn't matter a-anyway. We b-both royally f-fucked u-up and w-we're both s-screwed so l-let's talk a-about some-something else now," Virgil was getting increasingly irritated that he was stumbling constantly over his words as he tried to even out his breathing.

"You're right you're right. Well, I should probably say that I like you now huh?"

Virgil flushed bright red and bit his lip before whispering, "I like you too..."

Roman smiled his radiant smile, "Are you gonna look at me?"

Virgil, who had kept his eyes in the floor throughout the entire exchange shook his head but a small grin crept across his face. He felt giddy and light headed, euphoric almost.

Roman chuckled and hopped down from his perch in the desk and sat beside Virgil, gently resting an arm around him. Virgil stiffened at first before relaxing, leaning into his shoulder.

"So, do you wanna go out some day after school?" Roman said casually.

Virgil froze, unprepared for the question. He struggled to speak for a second before giving up on words and leaning further into the redheads shoulder and nodded quickly, blushing scarlet again. He was overwhelmed with happiness and found himself forgetting the events that had brought them to this point. He sighed and closed his eyes, wanting the moment to lays forever, wishing it would never end. He hadn't felt so at home and comfortable in so long and it felt amazing to his sit there in silence.
