The next few weeks passed in a blur. Logan went home and eventually came back to school to a barrage of concerns and questions form people he didn't even know. Virgil didn't see him or Patton for a few days, the crowd that followed them freaking him out to much. He didn't mind; Logan was safe and that was what mattered. Besides, he had Roman with him, always there to hold his hand, to comfort him or just to be there.
Remy came home from school one day with a huge grin on his face and flushed cheeks. He was finally officially dating Emile and he wouldn't shut up about it. Which was adorable honestly. Everything was settling into a new normal and Virgil was the happiest he had been in weeks. School was still stressful, but it had become bearable since with his friends around him and Remy at home.
And it was home, Thomas' house. It had become the only place that had felt like home to him. The feeling was new and almost alien, it in a good way. It made him feel warm and happy to think about.
Roman had been practicing non-stop for the musical, Dear Evan something or other. Virgil could never remember the name no matter how many times he heard it.
"For the last time, it's Hansen. Dear Evan Hansen," Roman's voice was exasperated but a smile played on his lips. He was nervous and had been running lines with anyone who would listen all day. The two of them stood back stage, waiting for the room to fill. Virgil wasn't technically supposed to be there but he wanted to make sure Roman was ok.
"Yeah yeah whatever. Listen, to you're going to do amazing so stop worrying, ok?"
Roman smiled. "Thank you for those words of encouragement but it actually will help my performance if I'm nervous. That's basically Evan's entire personality,"
"Whatever you say. I should probably go before I get caught anyways," Virgil reached up and kissed Roman. "Good luck or break a leg. Or-," Virgil glanced at the cast on Romans arm, "-an arm,"
Roman laughed and shooed him away. Virgil weaved among the people milling about to reclaim his seat next to Logan with Remy next to him. He had brought Emile, who was basically a replica of Patton. The two of them were getting on like wildfire and Logan gave Virgil a look as he sat down as if to say help, there's two of them.
Virgil enjoyed the musical and he was slightly embarrassed to say he spent a lot of it looking at his boyfriend. When Roman sang his first song Virgil had to squeeze his eyes shut to stop himself from crying. He had never related to a song more and it hurt to watch Roman perform it, even though he knew it was acting. Logan's hand found his and squeezed it reassuringly half way through. Virgil held it righty until ten song ended.
Roman's performance was amazing and afterwards, as Virgil hugged him, surrounded by his friends, laughing and smiling, he grinned wider than he ever had. He was filled to overflowing with the feeling of happiness and acceptance. As they all talked he looked at them, Patton leaning against Logan and Remy with an arm slung around Emile, who was swatting away Remus with a notebook, he remembered the words Roman had sung in his amazing voice on that stage.
They had resonated and stuck with Virgil, and as he stood there with these people who loved and cared about him he knew one thing for certain. It didn't matter what had happened to him before. It was behind him. It didn't matter anymore.
He had been found.

Wow. 59 parts. Over a year of writing and I can't believe I finished it. I've written a lot over the years but I've never gotten to the end of a story.
I started this as a joke, because I was bored. The fact that others could read it was just a bonus. And then people actually started to read it and now here we are.
