Virgil scrambled to his feet from his position on the corridor floor as he saw Roman heading towards him among the students milling around, becoming light-headed in his hast. He planted a hand against the wall and blinked rapidly.
"Hey Virge," Roman said, "You ok?"
"Yep," Virgil replied sheepishly, "Just got up to fast,"
Roman chuckled and glanced around before kissing Virgil's nose, causing the smaller boy to blush scarlet and push him away jokingly. Roman mock-staggered and placed a hand on his chest, feigning offence. "If that's how you want to be, fine," he said, spinning on his heel with a barley concealed grin.
Virgil's giggled and grabbed Roman's arm before noticing a few pairs of eyes on them and dropping his hand to his side. He was still getting used to not being ignored and kept accidentally drawing attention to himself. Which he hated.
Roman seemed to notice his discomfort and quickly changed the subject. "My brother is over by reception. I'm not supposed to leave him alone so we should probably go get him,"
Virgil nodded. He wasn't eager to meet Remus but he was curious about him.
(When I type Remus it keeps autocorrecting to REMUS help)
The pair walked quickly along the corridor, Roman nodding to people he knew and Virgil avoiding their gaze. Whispers still followed them, but this time they were directed at Roman. No doubt people had seen or heard about Remus and were curious.
As they reached reception Roman sped up, heading towards a boy who was his mirror image, except his hair was dyed a reddish brown, leaning against the wall by the door. Remus has attracted a small group of students and looked incredibly pleased about it, talking and smiling. His smile, however, was unsettling.
He looked up on seeing Roman and his smile widened. "Hello brother," he said, suddenly ignoring the people around him.
Virgil hung back while Roman walked up to his twin and grabbed his arm. "Come on," he said, forcing a smile and a shrug at the few people who questioned him:
"I didn't know you had a brother Roman," and things of the like.
Virgil quickly retook his place at Roman's side as he propelled his brother away from reception and towards the maths corridor. The pair dumped their bags next to one of the classrooms and Roman turned to face Virgil.
"Virgil, this is Remus," he said reluctantly, "Remus, this is Virgil,"
Virgil nodded and inched closer to Roman. Remus hadn't said a word and he was making him nervous.
The boy grinned his unnerving smile again as he looked at Virgil. "Hi," he said eventually. God he even sounded like Roman.
There was a long silence. Virgil decided he didn't like Remus. Roman looked between the two of them and sighed. "Well, this is incredibly awkward. Virgil I'll see you at lunch, Remus come on. I have to take you to the principal before class,"
Roman kissed Virgil's head before grabbing his brothers arm. Remus looked and Roman and raised an eyebrow.
Roman glared at him. "Not a word or I swear I will shoot you in the eye,"
Remus just chuckled at the threat. Roman sighed again and smiled exasperatedly at Virgil before dragging his brother down the hall. Virgil shook his head and walked in the opposite direction, making it to his class just as the bell rang and receiving a disapproving looks from his teacher.
He really didn't like Remus.
