Roman didn't like his brother, hence why he hadn't mentioned him to anyone at school. In hindsight this was probably a mistake since he was going to have to explain to everyone he knew that he had a twin brother, he just hadn't told anyone about him. He really wasn't looking forward to that explanation.

Having Remus at his school was also worried him, considering how he got expelled from his last boarding school. God knows how he got hold of matches but he had. It was a miracle his school had accepted him. There wasn't anything mentally wrong with Remus (although Roman was convinced he was a sociopath), he just found it entertaining to misbehave and be make others uncomfortable. Really uncomfortable. Which sucked for Roman, who was always dumped with keeping an eye on him. He was like the human embodiment of the word moist; most of the time not doing anything to bad but his presence just made you feel weird.

When they arrived at his boarding school to pick him up he was stood in the lobby with a manic grin on his face. He was moving his head from side to side slowly in an incredible unnerving way. An adult, presumably a teacher, was standing next to him looking very uncomfortable.

Roman stood back as their mother went to talk with the teacher in hushed voices. It wasn't long before she had a firm grip on his arm and was half propelling, half dragging him to where they had parked the car and bundling him into trouble back seat without a word. It wasn't until they were a good fifteen minutes away from the school when his mother spoke finally.

"Why?"

Remus just giggled.

"Remus," she said again, in a no-nonsense voice, "why did you light a fire?"

His brother shrugged and grinned. "I don't know, really. It was fun though. Watching it all go up in smoke," He giggled again.

Their mother sighed and mumbled something that Roman couldn't make out before falling quiet. Roman sighed and leaned his forehead against the cool glass of the window.

This was going to be a long year.

"So brother," Remus said, flopping down onto his old bed. "Anything interesting happen while I was gone?"

Roman's thoughts flashed to Virgil and he hoped his cheeks weren't colouring. "Nothing that concerns you," he said before turning from where he was leaning against the doorway and moving across the hall to his room. He had only made it a few steps inside when, to his dismay, Remus hopped up from his bed and followed him.

"Remus-," Roman began before stopping. There was really no point trying to get him to leave. He was annoyingly persistent and stubborn that way.

He say down on the edge of his bed and watched his brother carefully as he wandered around the room without so much a glance in Roman's direction. He absently lifted random objects of the desk that rested against the wall before replacing them, making Roman nervous.

He fiddled with a pencil before spinning on his heel and pointing it in Roman's direction. "How long do you think it would take me to kill someone with this?"

Roman sighed. He had not missed this. "I don't know or care, will you just put it down,"

Remus pouted and dropped the pencil. It clattered on the floor and rolled under the bed. "You're no fun. Hey! Do you still have a girlfriend?" His enthusiasm was unnerving.

"No, we broke up," Roman said reluctantly, "Now will you please leave?"

Remus' eyes lit up. "Ooh why?!" He ignored the last part.

"It is none of your business," Roman stood up and shoved Remus out of the door. "Now leave,"

Remus grumbled and made to step back in but Roman closed the door and turned the lock he had had added for that exact purpose before he got the chance.

He was dreading school the next day.

Hey guys, I'm back! Thank you so much for being patient with me and I'm really sorry it's been a while. I'm much more inspired to write again finally and now that Remus is in it I'm really excited about this story.

Also this book has 28k reads now? I don't know when that happened but thank you? So much? It means so much to me that people enjoy this and I know I'm just repeating myself a lot so I'll shut up now😅

Later🤟🏻
