50:Getting ready to Purge

"What do you mean now is not the best time?" I was very concerned.

She looked around.

"Did Mike see you?"

"No he didn't see me why..."

She sat back in her bed.

I looked at her.

"Candy I'm getting you and our daughter out of here."

"I know but it's just the timing." she said.

I raised my brow.

"What are you talking about?" I questioned.

Candy sighed.

"Today is Purge."

I looked at her confused Mike definitely fucked her head up.

"You know that's a movie right." I said trying not to laugh.

She narrowed her eyes at me.

"I know and I'm serious they been doing it in New York for awhile now its just kept low key.

I was still in disbelief.

"Wait so is it just like the movie or..."

"Its worse.." she said.

"Ok so what does that mean."

"It means that tonight all hell going to break lose and you can't be caught up in that." she explained.

She was trying to scare me but I was interested.

"Does Mike usually purge?" I asked.

Candy looked at me.

"He purges even when it's not legal so what does that tell you."

I nodded.

"Ok cool when the alarm go off ill just purge his ass and get this over with."

Candy shook her head.

"It won't be that easy Mike has people all over New York that will be out tonight also."

"And..." I said.

"And they know who you are and let's be real someone probably seen already hopefully not though."

"When do you leave out of the hospital?" I asked.

"Today I'm just waiting for my release papers." she shrugged.

Her eyes grew wide.

I looked at her.

"Whats going on.."

"Hide."

"What."

I was confused.

"He's coming hide."

I looked and seen Mike about to make his way to the door.

I didn't want to hide but I had to outsmart him.

I quickly went into the bathroom and closed the door.

As soon as I was in the bathroom I heard the room door open.

I pressed my ear to the door to hear.

"Hey baby you ok?" I heard Mike asked.

"Yea I'm fine just waiting on the nurses to bring my papers." Her voice was high pitched.

"Were you talking to someone.. I thought I heard voices." his voice was deep.

"No I was just watching tv it was probably that." she said.

"huh ok.. well I just dropped Princess off with my parents and are you still up for ball tonight."

"Uh yea all I gotta do is dressed once I get out of here."

"Ball." I mutted to myself confused.

"Ok I'm gonna go see what's taking so long with the papers and get them to you."

"Ok." Candy said once again high pitched.

Soon I heard footsteps and the door close.

After a few moments.

"Ok you come out." she told me.

I opened the door and walked out.

"What was he talking about a ball?" I questioned.

"Its this Charity ball thing hosted by the Nfaa they host it every purge." she explained.

"Can you get me in?"I asked.

Candy looked at me.

"Yea but you can't go like that you'll stick out and be noticed.

I looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

"You gotta change some things."

"Like what?" I asked.

She grabbed a piece of paper and pen and started writing.

"Ok here's what your going to need to do. First go to third street and look for fuzzy's pet shop go inside and ask for a guy named Willie. Once you find him ask him for a star fish.

"Starfish." I said

Ok where is she going with this.

"Starfish is code for fake id' a and passport.

"Ok." I said.

"Ask for that and then get the name Anthony Resse Garappolo after that go to my girl Teshia house in the bronx tell her you know me and she'll hook you up with a suite and then go three blocks up from there there's a small salon they speak Spanish but they cool. I had an appointment with them today but tell them you'll take my place and change your hair color to full black."

I looked at Candy more confused than what I was.

"Ok and what I do after that?"

She wrote on the piece of paper again.

"Come to this address you'll get in but make sure your there before the alarm goes off."

She tore the paper off and handed it to me.

"I can call or text you?"

Candy shook her head.

"Too risky and don't want Mike to catch on its best to be five steps ahead before he catches on." she told me.

"And what time does the purge start?"

"Seven but you want to be off the street before then."

I looked at my phone it was noon I had seven hours before the purge AKA Mike's death official starts.
