Jerry and I were patroling around the city in the squad car just riding around into the night.
"Whats been up with you lately he asked while he was driving and I was ridingshot gun,
"Nothing, I sighed.
I seen the red bright lights coming up.
"Hey you wanna stop for some doughnuts since they fresh now?" he asked
I shook my head.
"Nah i'm not in the mood for doughnuts." I said.
"This is coming from the guy who ate two boxs of doungnuts in a hour,"he laughed.
"Seriously man I'm good, " I told him.
"Why are you in the dumps I've havent seen you like this since...."
Jerry paused.
"Is this about your crazy ex wife.."
"Hey that's my wife your talking about," I snapped.
"Your divorced..man chill out," he said.
I sighed.
"I'm thinking of getting back together with Candy and working things out."
Jerry was quit for a minute.
"You should," he said.
"Really," I was surprised.
"Yea I mean even though shes crazy and I'm pretty sure your crazy to but she makes you happy."
I grinned.
"Yea she does but I don't think she'll take me back after what happened on New's eve..."
"Wait what happened on New years ever, Jerry inturrpted.
"It's a long story."
"We don't get off for two hours you got time.
"Fine... Candy and I had sex that night..;and early that morning." I told him.
He paused.
"How was it?"he asked.
"It was better than expected but i know there's something there..but I know she wont admit it."
"Well have you thought about... I don't know telling her this."
"I'm not sure if I should tell her."
Jerry suddenly turned the car around.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"I'm doing you a favor," he said as we drove down the road.
Once he pulled into my neigborhood he slowed down.
"What are we doing here?" I asked as he pulled up to Candy's house.
He parked and looked at me.
"You need to tell her I don't want to see you fall in to your dark place again like you did after the divorce..it's clear your still in love with her."
"What if shes not in love with me," I said looking out the window.
'"Well you need to tell her how you feel."
I sucked it up.
"Yea your right I'm going to march up to that door and when she answers I'm going to say Candy I love you!"
"You damn right you are now go, Jerry cheered me on as I got out of the car.
I walked up half way to the door when I decieded that maybe I was ready and was about to walk back to the car Jerry pulled off.

I took a deep breath turned around and made my way up to the door my heart was pounding as I knocked on the door.
I love you! I said as the door opened.
"Ok.... Hi dad." I looked to see Cody was standing in front of me.
