Tristan
The room was dark as I tossed and turned in bed next to Candy who I forgot likes to take up ninety percent of the bed.
I turned over and moved Candy's legs as I sat up on the bed and quietly made my way over to the dresser.
I turned to make sure Candy was still asleep before I slowly opened the dresser and moved a couple of T-shirt's until I felt a small bag.
"There it is," I picked up the bag and grinned.
"What you doing?" Candy asked turning on the lamp and looking at me.
"I can't sleep so I need to smoke."
She rolled her eyes.
"You just trying to get high."
I actually was but weed does help me sleep too.
"Relax I'm not even going to smoke that much." I told her as I opened the bag.
My eyes grew wide with surprise as I realized there was less inside the bag than I remembered.
I looked at Candy.
"Did you smoke my weed?" I asked.
She looked dead at me not saying anything.
At the time I didn't see what was wrong with what I said but she did.
"Yep because pregnant women smoke weed." She said sarcastically.
"I know that I had more weed than this."
"You probably smoked more than you remember it happens." Candy explained.
I looked at her.
"What about the kids?" I asked.
Candy looked at me.
"Our kids know better than that."
As I was about to say something there was loud barking coming from downstairs it was Charlie.
"I think it's time to take Charlie out for a walk."
"Nah that's not it."
Charlie being a retired Police German Shepherd I could tell be the way he was barking and it wasn't to go on the walk.
"I think someone's in the house I told Candy quietly.
"Are you sure?" She asked nervously.
I made my to the closest and grabbed a bat since Candy confiscated my guns.. well the ones she know about anyway.
I had the bat in my hand as I made my way to the bedroom door.
"Stay quiet and lock the door and you know what do if I'm not back in five minutes."
Candy nodded as I walked out of the room and closed the door.
I slowly walked down the stairs where Charlie's barking was getting louder and louder.
As I made it down the stairs and into the dark living the barking was louder coming from the kitchen.
I walked into the kitchen and seen Charlie barking at the back door.
I held the bat tight as I went to the back door where Charlie was still barking.
I looked out the window blind next to the door to see no one was in the back yard.
"Down Charlie I said in which he finally stopped barking it was giving me a headache.
"Who ever you are get away from my door and my property I'm only saying this once I called out.
I heard nothing then I looked at the blind to see nothing so I slowly opened the door.
There was no one there I looked farther to see if I saw anyone but nothing..
I closed and locked the door then made my way back upstairs.
I double knocked on the door to let Candy know it was me and she opened it.
"What happened?" She asked as I grabbed my laptop of the dresser sat on the bed and turned it on.
"I think someone was in our backyard."
"Did you see anyone?"
I shook my head.
Candy looked at me.
"What are you doing?"
"Ordering a security system."
So what y'all think?
Was someone really there or is Tristan being paranoid?
Is Tristan doing the right thing?
