Dumb But Not Stupid (FINISHED)

7. Pre-Pep Rally

Things between my parents have been awkward? Tense? Weird? I don't know how to properly describe it so lets leave it with bad.

 Mom has been ignoring Dad, Dad has been deep in thought, almost as if he was trying to find a way to keep a secret. Maybe it has to do with what they were talking yesterday.

 Alex and Darren didn't even notice it until I told them this morning on our way to school, "Is that why mom didn't set up a spot on the table for dad?" asked Darren.

"Yea, no wonder Dad slept on the couch last night, I saw him on my way to the restroom but I thought he fell asleep watching TV," added Alex as we waited for Cassie to come out, "This whole thing is weird but let the 'rents solve their problems. You should focus on that boyfriend of yours." 

"Babe, leave Annie alone, her problems with Logan are hers and his." Cassie said the minute she sat in her seat, may God bless this girl! 

"Ok Ok, anyways babe, do you still want me to drop you off at the mall today?" asked Alex trying to switch the topic.

"Yes, we still want you to drop us off, oh I think Kristy is coming too. And maybe another girl, I don't know yet." I responded while I texted the dance group chat.

"Yea? Sorry Sis but I don't recall offering anyone besides my girlfriend any rides," Alex said as he looked at me from the rearview mirror with a smirk, 

"Darren tell him something!" I said as I smacked Darren's shoulder with my binder. 

"Bro, Kristy is also going, just give them a ride, she's my girl." Darren said

"Oh yea ask in behalf of your girlfriend, don't worry about me, YOUR SISTER!" I said

"Thanks Steph, you're always so understanding. It melts my heart" Darren said as he touched his right side of the chest.

"Yea well sorry to break it to you D, but you should get that checked out, cause the heart is on the other side." said Cassie as she turned around to look at us.

"I know, I was doing it to see if you knew where the heart was," said Darren.

"Sure buddy, Babe I offered them the ride, can you please do it?" Cassie said as she gently pulled on Alex's sleeve once we arrived in the school parking lot.

"Fine, but you all have 5 minutes after the last bell to be at least in front of my car or else I'll leave you behind." Alex said with a warning before he exited his own car.

"BABE! OVER HERE HURRY!" I yelled out to Logan as he walked through the gym doors, today was the school's pre-prep rally for the game this Friday, you may question why we have a pre-prep rally, it's because our school is super competitive and we have to be reminded to be as polite as possible to West High. 

This assemblies usually take about 30-50 minutes depending on what the school wants to bring up.

"Hey love, so I heard you'll be going to the mall with your girl friends, some of the guys and I will also be going after practice to the Panther Spot. So I'll see you there." Logan said after he pecked my lips before he sat down in front of me. 

"Is the team going to go hang out before we have to wait to see who keeps the spot until the next game?" I asked, we don't only play for pride, bragging rights, and to prove a point. 

There is only one mall in our town, it is conveniently right in the middle of both schools, the problem is since there is only one mall, there is also limited numbers of cool hang out spots. 

East High and West High use the football game to decide who keeps the coolest spot in the mall for the rest of the school year. It's a pretty big deal for both schools and we all want to make sure we keep it. 

East High has won the game for 2 years in a row and we are hoping that this year isn't any different.

"You know it cutie, it's the last time we will all hang out there until we are named the winners again this year so we want to have a pre-game hang out." He said as the principal continued to go over the rules of what is expected to occur between now and the game and during the game. We all knew the rules by heart, even us freshmen, like I said, this town is small so everyone has already heard about this game.

After the assembly was over we headed out to the cafeteria for some lunch and then headed to our classes and awaited the end of the school day.

After what seemed like forever the last bell finally rang, Alex's warning was still fresh in my head so I made sure to yeet to the parking lot while sending Logan a text.

It's fine, yea I'll see you there in about 2 hours? I'm not sure, I'll text you when  we get off of practice love ya- Logan

As soon as we arrived at the mall we all split up. Kristina and Cassie went to look for stuff to make DIY stuff and some girls from the team and I went to look for some outfit ideas.

"Captain I don't think we'll find anything here, let's just give up." said Jessica

"No, we'll find something," I responded, I understand why they're so tired. We had practice until late the whole weekend and we had been walking for what seemed like hours looking for the outfits. 

We walked by this really cute store that had just opened in the mall but we didn't bother to enter until we heard Jessica squeal. 

"Omg Capt. Look This is sooo cute" she said as we all crowded at the window eye a really cute 2 piece outfit perfect for the music and choreo. We all went inside and got our sizes, I also got the sizes for the girls that couldn't come today. 

Everything was going fine, Kristy had texted me saying they were done and were heading to the Panther Spot, Logan had texted me earlier that the team was already there. Now I just needed to pay and walk over. 

But of course something always comes up.
