Chapter 11: Study Buddies (no homo)

The next day, you are in science class when Jade notices how significantly you are struggling. "hey mari! it you want, you could come over to my house and we could have a study session and i could help you out on anything your confused on!" she says.

"aw wow yeah i think that' be really great actually :) thank you ade" you say. "yay!!!" says jade.

"can i come??" says aradia, bouncing up in between the two of you. By now, everyone has been informed on Aradia's alive status. It's actually starting to get a little weird cause she does need to sleep and eat now and shit. Oh i didn't mean like actually shitting but that is also something she now has to do as an alive person. "sure!!!!" says jade "your good at this stuff too right?" she asks.

aradia nods enthusiasticlly. "yes yes!!!! i used to be somewhat of an archeologist.. which i know isnt the same as geology stuff but a lot if it can overlap! with sedimatary rocks and all" she explains. "yay! awesome!" says jade. you just realize you need to do something. you hold out your first for aradia.

Aradia bumps your fist. It's magical. She's the most perfected fist bumper you have ever encountered. After the bump, you just stand there frozen for a good minute, blushing. wow...

And now it's after school! The three of you head to jade's house wher also john lives. You all sit down around the table and open up your txtbooks and notebooks and binders and spread out all your papers and have a little box of highlighters and pens ready to go and you sigh with satisfaction. "study time, baby" you say. You take a few pics of your setup and post them to instagram with the caption "bluuhh sooo much homework :books: :microscope: #theresnorockemojibutwedoingeologylol"

you sit back down because you had were been standing from beforeheand to do the picture taking of it all. papr. Jade opens the textbook to the assigned questions of the page on it that have questions that you have to answering. "oka! so this is the page we are assignmented!!!" she says "lets work through this together! okayyy number one... describe the difference between a sedimentry and igneous rock." she reads off.

Jade looks at you "mari do you know the answer?" she asks. "uhhh no not at all lol i dont know shit at all" you say, stil writing the header on your paper. you got the date wrong twice. and then you speled geology wrong about four times. spelling is just not youre forte okay!!! it's valid of you and ill thank the reader not to judge you for it!

"i knwo!!" aradia perks up with a big grin across her face. "sedimatory rocks are the kind that i am very interested in! thats cause they are made from buildup of minerals over millions of millenia!! heh trying saying THAT three times fast!" she quips "and so they are pound to carry some kind of determination of the previous times before us! things like fossils and the different minerals that harbored are within it all. igenous on the other hand, comes from volcanoes! muc like the one that jade here grew up on!" she explains.

"YOU GREW UP ON A CVOLCANO???" yo u yeller to jade.

"oh no no!!! hehehe thats a bit of an eggzageration! i gew up on an island that had a volcano ON it hehe.. so yeah i had a lot of igneous rocks because i think they are pretty! and i would go out and collect them all the time!" she explains. "wow that is so cool!!! i wish i had some kind of cool collection like that damn..."

"but mari what are you talking about?" aradia says "you do have a collecrion!" she planders. "what?? no i dont? what r YOU talking about??" you say to her.

"mari you silly girl.. do you not count your photography hobby to be a collection of photographs? of memories, perhaps?" sh says.

"omg no not really.. i just take pics of things i think are pretty or cool or whatever! i dont think im like collecting anything really..." you say shyly.

"oh, but you are!" aradia says, her hand atop your. youre still not used to being able to feeling her so well. "your pictures are a wonderful collection of moments in history! it is very important the collection you put together," she says, eyes wide and staring into yours.

"wow i.. never thought about it that way..." you admit.

"i think shes right!' jade says "dave likes to take pictures too hehe but dont tell him i told you guys lol.. he has collections of ironic selfies all over his room he is so dorky!!" she says. "ahaha omg really?? that is so silly!" you say.

"i used to do the same. i would take pictures of my adventures! mostly so i could remember where i'd been and look back on it all fondly! but then my hive got destroyed and all presious memories lost. such is life!" says aradia. you frown "oh no i am so sorry to hear this" you say. she just shrugs "it doesnt much matter now really!" her smiles has no broken once a time ever at all for real. "i think that death can be a gift" she says, still grinning.

"oh! well! that... is a stance that you have!" you say nervously. you hope she doesn't want to give that gift to you. "hehehe" says jade "aradia! thats kind of a weird thing to say!" oh ok just gonna come out and tell her that.

"is it? haha sorry! i really just don't see death as the terrible thing the living make it out to be! i honestly think it's a reason to celebrate!" wow that sounds really familiar to you like you swear you fuckin heard somebody say that once upon a december.. But anyways

Jade helps the both of you study about thinks like earthquakes and the richtor scale and siezmic waves and shit like that! It's not very interesting but you are happy to be hanging out with two good friends!

"hey i gotta take a whiz wheres the b-room?" you ask to jade. you have to take a whiz. "oh its just down the hall!" she says "alright lit" you get up and say even though thats definitely not specific enough wtf jade you need to say like which door it is but you dont wanna be rude so you just so and try to fin it yourself.

you open a door and the room it is is NOT the bathroom, but a bedroom! after just a glance you know it must be john's room. bad movie posters. john is noticeably missing from the room, but you figure it isnt jaes room cause there no cute little stuff animals like she had talked about that she had one time! and hes the only other one who lives here besides johns dad.

on his desk, you notice a glimmer of something flat. you take a acloser look and see that he has an eyeshadow palette of some lovely nude shades as well as a tube of black lipstick! omg he is giong goth isnt he!!! omg ur so excited to see his new looks you hope hes not to shy too try them out! just as you are picking up the palette to examine it further, the door creaks and you hear a gasp. you quickly drop the plate back ont he desk. "shit sorry!" you say "i was looking for the bathroom"

"and y- and so you stuck around to snoop??" he is so sweaty. he rushes into the room and grabs the make up off the desk and throws it in a drawer. "sorry bro!!!!" you squaeak.

he sighs bigly. "just please dont tell anyone what you saw, ok?" he says. he looks like so fucking nervous and his hand is shaking so bad as he puts it down on the top of his chair.

"wha? oh.. okay yeah i get u lol..." you say.. he wants his gothness to be a surprise! of course... "hy just so you know.. i think it's totally epic and fine to just try things out. see how you like 'em, yaknow? i know i wouldnt judge if you decided to wear a bit of eyeshadow.. a smudge of lippy stick.. your totes fine man!" you say to him. hes totes fine for real tho. he smiles so softly at you.

"thanks, mari." he says and sighs wistfully. then suddenly he is hugging you! wahho. ? you cautoisuly hug him back. you hope he doesnt hink you where like hidding on him or anything oh jeez... "thank you." he says one more time. "no prob john" you say and pat his little head.

"i guess ill let you get back to the stuyding with my sister.." he says. you nod and exit hes room. he waves weakly as you leave. you look back down the hall once more, before going down the stairs and you smile at him before desending.
