Chapter 14

Colby- What?!
Jake- Look I don't want to do this either but we have to, if we don't Brennen'll hurt them.
Colby- O-Okay.
We walked out of the room and headed downstairs to the living room where the others were.
Jake- G-Guys.
Corey- Hey, you guys okay?
Colby- Yeah, listen we have something to tell you and please don't judge us.
Kat- We'd never we love you guys.
Jake- C-Colby and I are d-dating.
All of them burst out laughing causing us to sigh.
Corey- Wait, you're serious?
We looked down averting their gaze.
Kat- I dont believe you.
Colby- O-Okay guess we have to...
Colby and I looked at each other and we leaned in until the gap between us closed. We kissed for a few seconds and pulled away.
Jake- Happy now?!
I said loudly but,I wasn't really talking to them. They all looked at us shocked and confused but Tara looked hurt more than shocked. I started to say something but then I got a text message.
Brennen: Very much, good job boys your next task is tomorrow.
I showed Colby the message and he sighed and looked down.
Tara- Wow....
She sniffled and grabbed her back and walked to the door.
Jake- T-Tara I-
Tara- Don't. I was stupid to think you loved me I suspected it when you never responded to my texts or calls when I was out and you barely acknowledge me when Im in the room with you. But this, makes it very clear.
There was nothing I could say, she said everything that needed to be said. I felt terrible for hurting her but maybe this was for the best. My feelings for her arent the same, and Id rather her be hurt by the truth than be led on and later hurt by a lie.
Tara- Unbelieveable.
She shook her head and pushed pass Colby and I and stopped as she opened the door.
Tara- We're over not that care anyways.
She walked out slamming the door behind her.
Kat- You're such a dick Jake, both of you are.
Kat shook her head and left out after Tara.
Corey- Thats fucked up man.
Him and Devyn had the look of disappointment on their faces and left the room as well.
Colby- Im so sorry....
Jake- Its fine.....Its probably best this way....she deserves better than me anyways.
The phone rang and I answered it.
Brennen- Since you've completed your first task, you can talk to them.
He handed the phone to Stella and Sam was next to her but this time they weren't tied up anymore but from the looks of it, I'd say they're still in pain.
Jake- Stella, Sam are you guys okay?
Stella- We wanna come home to you.
Sam- We don't like it here, he keeps hurting u-us, daddy I-I'm scared.
Colby- I know baby, But there's nothing we can do right now but I promise we'll get to you soon.
Stella- Jake I have to tell you something.
Jake- What is it?
Stella- I love-
Before she could answer Brennen snatched the phone from her.
Jake- Please Brennen, just a few more minutes.
Brennen- No, you're lucky I even let y'all talk.
Jake- Why are you still hurting them?!
Brennen- I just love seeing them in pain.
Then he ended the call.
Colby- I don't know how much longer I can wait I can't wait, I need Sam safe!
Jake- That's our only option right now there's nothing we can do.
Colby- I fucking hate this!
Jake- Me too, when we get them back, Brennen is dead, and he'll die by my hands.
I growled as my demon roared inside of me.
Jake- No.
I growled to myself.
Colby- Jake, you know what happened last time you-
Jake- *sighs* yeah I know.
