The time was getting closer and closer to the wedding date we had chosen, and I couldn't help but be more and more nervous.

"Are you sure they look good?" I questioned as I looked at the bridesmaid dresses, "wait a minute, do you guys even like them? Because what's the point on buying a dress you don't like?"

"Bethany, relax, I promise you that all of us love the dresses," Abby reassured me as all my bridesmaids stood in front of me. I had only chosen four of my closest friends seeing as how having more would be too much work.

"Yeah, we did choose them ourselves after all," Rachel, my college friend, smiled as she did a small twirl in her dress.

"You're right," I sighed, "I've just been so stressed with all of the planning because I want everything to be prefect."

"It's okay, you don't need to explain yourself. We can tell just how stressful it is," Ximena, my childhood best friend, assured me as she placed a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"Now, enough about us, are you ready to go wedding dress shopping?" Natalie asked me after they were all dressed back to their normal clothes.

"I'm more than ready!" I smiled.

Today would be the big day, the day in which I'd find my dream dress.

**

"I don't know, I like the way it fits but it's just not the one," I sighed as I stared at the tenth dress I had tried on. It was a beautiful dress but it just wasn't the one.

"Really? I think it looks amazing," Abby smiled as she stared at me, everyone else nodding to what she said.

"Can I try one more dress on?" I asked the employee who nodded and lead me back to the dressing room.

"If you don't mind me asking," the employee, whose name was Layla, spoke as she helped me put on the dress, "are you nervous? You know, to get married."

I smiled at her and nodded my head, "I honestly am. My parents arranged my marriage, but I don't mind, my fiancé is very nice and caring. Plus, I've had a crush on him since high school," I told her, watching as she tied the back of the dress.

"That's good," she smiled, "life works in very mysterious ways. Now, what do you think?"

I stared in awe at my reflection, I looked like a completely different person! The dress accentuated my curves, and made me look slimmer than I was. The mermaid tail began under my butt and the detailing ended around my thighs, the short lace sleeves on my arms adding a nice effect.

"This would go perfect with it," Layla smiled as she placed the veil on my head and I felt tears brim my eyes, this was THE dress.

I walked out towards my friends and family and smiled as I watched their mouths drop.

"Holy shit," Natalie gasped, "you look so beautiful!"

"You look so gorgeous," my mother and Chris's mother said at the same time, both of them sniffling.

"You've always been a goddess but holy crap," Abby gushed as she stood up and walked towards me, embracing me in a tight hug as tears fell down her face.

"Why are you crying?" I asked her, feeling tears brim my eyes as well before they began rolling down my face.

"I'm not," she laughed, wiping the tears away, "I just got dust in my eyes."

I couldn't help but laugh as I turned back towards the mirror and smiled.

"I found my dress."

**

"I swear it's the prettiest thing I've ever seen!" I told Chris as I sat across from him in his room, "everyone cried when they saw it."

"No way! Even my mom?" he questioned, throwing a soccer ball up in the air as he turned to look at me.

"Yes! Your mom and my mom both cried together," I laughed, laying in his bed as I hugged his shark plushy, "I felt kind of bad but I knew they were happy tears."

"I want to see the dress," he told me, standing up and walking towards me.

"Well then, you'll have to wait for a month and two weeks so you can see it," I smiled, laughing slightly as he pouted at me.

"That's so far away though!" he whined, throwing himself onto the bed, "I don't think I can wait."

"Well you have to!" I laughed, "it's a surprise."

"That's not fair!" he pouted again, "at least give me a hint."

"Alright," I sighed, "it's a white dress with cute detailing and it's so long."

"Ha Ha, so funny," Chris muttered as he rolled his eyes as at me, "it's fine, don't tell me. But don't go begging me to see my outfit."

He smirked as I pouted at him, "you have to! A wedding dress is different from a suit!"

"Too bad, you'll have to wait," he laughed, tossing a pillow at me and hitting me right in the face.

"Oh, Christopher Bang, you just made the biggest mistake," I laughed, standing up and walking towards him, "this means war!"

I took a giant leap at him and soon enough, a whole pillow fight had started, both Chris and I laughing as we enjoyed the moment. It was in that moment that I realized just how happy he made me.
