Sitting in the back of the car, I allowed my mind to drift afar. Kiera and Elijah were busy talking to each other and I decided to give them some space to themselves. I know, how Nobel of me but honestly I just wasn't in the mood for chat right now. I didn't even want to be here but as I learned the hard way, if you make a promise to Kiera, it's in your best interest to keep it unless you had a death wish. I knew she wanted me here for her also, not only for myself. She was about to meet her future pack, her mates pack and being the brave and courageous young women she is, she was pretty nervous. I knew having me near her when she did meet them would make her feel more relaxed and comfortable. So for her, I would try my best to be supportive. I also knew she didn't want to leave me alone incase I had another break down like the other night. I was good at hiding my emotions from others but not Kiera. Each time she looked at me, I could tell she knew I was in pain, that my heart was breaking slowly. The pain in my chest increased as I thought about my beautiful mate. Why the hell did I run away for? Why was I so stupid?
I was snapped out of my thoughts as the car pulled to a stop. Opening the door, I gasped. Looking ahead of me, I was the most beautiful and breathtaking building. Kiera mouth hung open as she was also amazed at the beautiful structure of the building.
The pack territory loomed proudly behind golden iron gates, a long wide road that roamed throughout the land that lead it's way to the mansion which I guess was the main pack house. Each side and the road were houses and cottages where I assumed the lack members lived. They looked cosy and homely.
The mansion was four stories tall and was built in red brick Victorian and marble, reflecting the wealth and antique of it as it gave off a nineteenth century vibe. A staircase led it way on both sides up to the main doors as a delicate marble fountain stood in the middle, the soft gurgling of the clear blue water as it rose in the air and was pulled back down by gravity. I was in awe to whomever lived here, clearly they were well off if they could afford to live in a mansion as breathtaking and beautiful as this one. If the outside was so wonderful, I was dying to see the inside.Leading us up the staircase, Elijah held the door open as me and Kiera entered. Kiera looked at him with pride, he was a pure gentleman. I knew by the simple acts like this one, he would treat her like the queen she is and she deserved nothing less.
Smiling I walked ahead leaving the love birds behind so they could have some alone time before the party started. I knew it was my que to leave anyways with the look Kiera gave me as if to say get out of here, not that it bothered me to leave them, I was more then happy. After the situation earlier at the apartment, I didn't want to be intervene with their make out session.
Looking around, I couldn't help but admire the art and beauty of this place. It was like a palace. The interior of the house was focused on the large central grand hallway that served as the main entrance area to the adjacent rooms. The hallways flew in to a large, wide staircase that provided the way to the privacy of the second floor. The wallpaper was Anglo Japanese design with Roman and Greek themes in the frieze on the walls and ceilings. The large wooden doors were opened back, giving a clear view into the combined rooms of the house. Art work hung peacefully upon the walls, some of which was probably the most beautiful work I have ever seen. I was lost in the beauty of this place, whomever owns this house clearly takes pride in it. I know I would.
I jumped at the sound of a familiar voice behind me.
"This place is awesome" Kiera gasped as she looked at our impressive surroundings.I chuckled, "tell me about it" I agreed as she turned me around to face her.
"Ok, let's go. The party has already begun and we're late" she smiled, I could smell the nervousness from her a mile away. Giving her an encouraging smile, we linked arms as we made our way through the the house toward the Ball room.
