Jealousies and realities.....
Sasha whisked away the cobwebs from the corners of the barn, "Whew," She grimaced leaning against the broom handle, a fine bead of sweat covered her forehead. "Hello," A familiar voice called walking up the driveway, Jenna rolled her eyes wiping her brow on the sleeve of her shirt, "Jenna," She remarked, "Haven't seen you in a few days, I thought I'd see how that finger was making out," She walked towards her grasping her hand. Sasha gazed into her eyes she wanted so desperately to kiss her lips. Jenna remained quiet, Sasha quickly pulled her hand away, "As you can see it's fine," Jenna smiled looking around, "Seems you've done a lot of work," She looked back to her, "I've been busy," She responded in hast, "I could use a cold drink, care to," Sasha spoke pointing towards the back door. Jenna agreed.
Sasha fetched a pitcher of cold water from the refrigerator she bent over the sink washing her face and hands, "I'm a little sweaty, dirty," She giggled, Jenna felt more at ease, "Its fine," They sat to the Island together, "Trask seems to be a nice," She broached, Sasha gave her an unsettled look, "Yes, why do you ask?" She fished for an answer from Jenna. Jenna shrugged, "I don't know, its just," She motioned with her hand speaking softly. "He's kind, handsome, what else could a woman want?" Jenna bowed her head, "I didn't know you were that interested," She groaned looking away. "Why shouldn't I be?" She tried to work Jenna into a corner.
Jenna stood up walking to the fireplace and leaning her head against the mantle, "Jenna," Sasha moved up behind her. Jenna could feel the heat from Sasha's body she didn't want to answer her, her insides burned with want. "Jenna," The room echoed her name. Sasha's hand found its way to her shoulder she slowly turned her around, "Please help me to understand what this is," She begged, "Its nothing, its a silly idea, thought," Sasha's grinned turned to a frown, "We wouldn't be standing here this way and you know it," She moved closer to her, Sasha's fingers threaded a lock of Jenna's hair, "All I know is what I feel, from the moment we met at the mailbox, my feelings were challenged," Jenna turned her face away. "I never felt this way about a woman before," Jenna cleared her throat, "And I won't cheat Colin he doesn't deserve this," She replied honestly.
Sasha lowered her hand, "You right, I was cheated, I told you how badly it hurt me and your husband seems like a good man, you should go home, you shouldn't be here," She snapped. "I'm sorry, " Jenna added heading to the door, "Jenna, if you care anything about me at all you won't come back, you won't put me or your husband in a situation," She advised. Jenna's look became pensive her heart melted away, the agony of it all, everything she held sacred now destroyed by her desires and needs. Sasha began to approach her, "I won't bother you again," She wiped the tears away from her face walking out. Jenna rushed to the closing door resting against it her fist pounded it in sadness, the loneliness she felt, painful.
"You don't sound yourself today," Margaret noted on the phone to Sasha, "Its just getting things done around here," She lied thinking of what her mother would say if she found out that she was interested in another woman. "Are you coming soon?" She didn't want to talk about how she really felt, "Change of plans, I'll be leaving for Munich tomorrow," She answered, "Oh, is grandmother worse?" She inquired, "About the same, Marta had a fall and she's broken her wrist," She replied, "Mom, I love you, be safe, take care of grandmother and call me when you're settled," They hung up, Sasha walked to the front window her attention on the farm across the road, "What have I gotten myself into," She asked herself out loud, feeling guilty for her thoughts.
Jenna pulled into the driveway getting out to check the mailbox she was tired from a long day at the hospital. The sound of a vehicle caught her attention, "Trask," She mumble under her breath watching him turn into the driveway. A bouquet of summer flowers rested in his hand, Jenna's mouth was dry her stomach knotted watching him enter the porch. Trask knocked on the door, Sasha opened the door to the smells of the flowers in his hand, "For me?" She teased inviting him in, Jenna's thoughts raced her heart beat out of control it was quickly doused by the presence of Colin, "Are you alright? I saw the vehicle not moving," She turned her head arching her brow, "I'm fine, just thumbing through the mail, an invitation to the Barron gala in her hand.
