A new perspective.....

"Mom," Sasha answered the phone she sat the broom she was sweeping with to the side, "How are you?" She asked, "My flight was long, but I'm glad to be home," She sighed, "And what are you doing?" She asked, "I still have cobwebs in the barn," Sasha laughed. "I'm surprised by you, my daughter, living a life of simpleton," She teased, "I love it, I did hire a hand, Jose, he's trimming the apple trees this morning," She replied watching him from the barn door. "Will you have to go back to Germany anytime soon?" She further probed, "Marta's well and we've hired decent help," She told her.

Sasha leaned against the wall of the barn, "Grandmother amazes me," She giggled, "Tough old coot," Margaret laughed. "When will you come for a visit?" She inquired, "Sloan tells me she's coming next week, I thought I'd join her," Sasha smiled widely, "I need you mom," She teared up thinking of Jenna, "Are you alright?" Margaret was concerned. Sasha collected herself, "Yes, I'm good, but sometimes I'm lonely for you and Sloan," She advised. "Not to worry, I'm booking my flight today and I'll see you Sunday," They hung up.

Jose finished trimming the trees up, "Excuse me miss Sasha, I'll be going into town for lunch and to pick up a few supplies, is there anything else you need?" Sasha smiled, "No, Mr. Covington has those things ready for you, you can pick them up after lunch," She reminded him. "If there is nothing else," He asked as he started to walk towards his truck, Sasha looked towards the road seeing Jenna heading up the driveway she rolled her eyes. Sasha walked to the creek sitting down along the bank, the stream trickled calmly, Jenna's refection from the water gazing at her, "What do you want Jenna?" Her tone sharp.

Jenna sat down next to her, "How are you?" She mumbled, "Why do you care?" She quickly asked. "Because we left things in a bad way," She squinted her eyes staring at her, "You wait a week to ask me that?" Sasha moaned feeling the hurt in her heart, "I thought it was best," She looked down. "There are two people involved here Jenna, not one two, but I think you've made yourself perfectly clear," Jenna touched Sasha's shoulder, "Have you talked to Trask?" She was worried. "No, but you are only concerned with what he might have to say, surely he will tell Colin and ruin your career at the village hospital," Her remarks scalding.

Jenna looked away, "I'm sorry," She cleared her throat, "I'm not, I love you Jenna, I wanted you, I was ready to tell my mother, you're a timid and a scared little girl,"Her words cutting. "I still love my husband, commitment means everything to me," Sasha interjected, "You cheated him, you fell in love with another, a woman, something in your life has been missing, you know it and so do I, stop playing games with me and him, cut your loses and let this storm blow over," She demanded. Jenna thought for a moment, "I can't, I just need, I need for us to get past these mistakes we've made," Sasha furrowed her brow, "I won't back down, never, I know what I want, do you?" She stood up.

Jenna sighed deeply standing up alongside Sasha, "Please Sasha," Sasha listened crossing her arms, "I'm not going to beg or grovel anymore, I would never do anything to hurt you, you have my silence, but I can't stop Trask or anyone else from running their mouths," She assured her, Jenna's heart sunk to her feet. "I know that's the truth, people will talk, I wonder how Trask found out, we were always careful," She wondered aloud. "I have an idea," She thought about Nita in the hospital that day, "Nita," Sasha shifted an eye to her, "Nita," Jenna pondered out loud.

"That day at the hospital she was strange acting," Jenna groaned, "She must have seen us through the door of my office," She frowned thinking back to that day, "Trask showed up that evening in a rage, remember?" Sasha worded. Jenna and Sasha began to put things together. "I should go," Jenna attempted a smile, "Goodbye Jenna," Sasha spoke with an ache in her heart her mind reeled with the pain of what should've been. Jenna slightly shook her head, "I will never forget you," She turned towards the driveway walking away, back across the road and into silence.
