Suspicions.....

Sasha on her way into the village made a stop at Covington's general store, "Good evening Ms. Addison," He met her at the door, "Frank, how are you," He closed the door behind her, "Busy, summer's always busy," A red headed girl with bright green eyes stepped from behind the counter, "Hello," She spoke forwardly, "I'm Frank's daughter, Nita," Frank grimaced with a frown, "Its nice to meet you," Sasha shook her hand. "Nita's moved back home and is helping me," He stated. "I need some stainless steel screws," She chirped, "I'm meeting Trask for drink," She told Frank as they walked to the hardware room. Nita's interests were peaked.

"Thank you Frank and it was nice to meet you Nita," Sasha smiled grabbing the brown paper bag from the counter, "Next time," He nodded she walked out. "She's seeing Trask?" Nita clinched her jaw, "I don't know, why? You and Trask had your time and it wasn't very good," He reminded her. "You have no idea about me and Trask," She barked, "Nita, stay out of it" He ordered. Nita grunted loudly leaving the room.

Trask sat to a table laying is hat in the chair next to him, "Hi," Sasha sat across from him, "Hey," He responded. "Two drafts please," He lifted his finger ordering. "I wanted to apologize about the other night," He started saying, Sasha stopped him, "There's no need, the timing just isn't right for me now," The waiter sat two cold mugs in front of them. "I wish for different," He spoke candidly, "I like you, I really do, but I'm just not into a dating situation right now, I need time for me, I've spent a long time making dates, meeting other people's demands," He looked at her swigging the beer in his mug. "Hmm," He expressed, "Look I know you say these things, but we would be good together, give me a chance to prove it to you," Sasha toyed with the beer mug not looking up at him.

"Trask, you are such a nice guy, gentlemanly, but for me to start something when I've just reconnected with myself isn't in the cards," She became serious only thinking of Jenna. "I could wait," He raised his brow, a sullen look clouded his face. "I can't make promises," She stated the beer she sipped coated her now parched throat. "Is there someone else?" He questioned, Sasha had to keep her cool, "No why do you ask?" She broached concerned he might be suspicious of something. "Well you are a star, I'm sure all kinds of men are interested, besides you wouldn't be in some little village, fixing a do it yourself farm," His comments stinging. "This is what I've wanted for a long time, I want to be far away from the limelight, no intrusions," She relayed firmly.

Trask sighed deeply, "You complement me well, my father even said it," He remarked with sentiment. "Your father just wants the best for you I'm sure, how old are you exactly?" She began to delve into his life, "Thirty four," He guzzled the remainder of the beer in his mug, "Ever been married?" She quizzed further, "No, I was engaged once, what does that matter? I have no attachments, I'm hard working, earn an excellent living and I've never been in trouble," His arrogance showed through. "I appreciate your proud confidence, its what makes you who you are, but right now, for me, I have other avenues and as I've said before, I'm not into a relationship," She finished her beer thanking him, "I won't give up," He was straight forward.

Jenna fluffed the top sheet to the bed and pulled the quilt up over it making the bed, Colin slipped into his suit jacket, "Are you sure you don't want to take a few days and go into the City with me?" He tied his necktie as he asked. Jenna sat on the edge of the bed, "I have work, Dr. Gaines can't be responsible for it all," She claimed threading her fingers together her heart pounding thinking of Sasha. "Suit yourself," He winced she followed him downstairs, "Have a safe trip," She placed her hands on his chest and attempted a kiss he turned his face. "Colin," She spoke softly, "Not now," He opened the backdoor and headed to the car. Jenna watched from the window, he drove away her marriage in shambles.

Jenna sulked sitting in the chair that faced the picture window looking out over the front of the farm. Sasha made her way there, knocking, "I'm really not in the mood Sasha," Jenna seemed distant. "Did something happen?" She followed her into the living room, "My husband hasn't really spoken to me in three days," She spoke sadly. Sasha felt heartsick, "You must still really love him," She remarked, "I'm sorry," Jenna gazed at her, "Do you want to work things out with him?" Jenna cleared her throat, "I love you Sasha, I just can't hurt him this way, I made a commitment," She began to weep. "We professed our love to one another Jenna," Sasha argued.
