To tell the truth.....
Sasha and Sloan sat with their grandmother, "She doesn't really know we're here," Sloan commented, "She sleeps a lot," Margaret woke her giving her a hot cup of tea, they visited. Margaret walked them down to the hotel that wasn't far from the apartment her mother shared with aunt Marta, "We are both tired," Sasha unlocked the door falling to the bed, "I will see you both for dinner," Margaret left them, Sasha could feel her text vibrating she looked annoyed gazing at the numerous messages Jenna had sent. "Is that important?" Sloan was curious, "No," Jenna quickly responded. "Have you heard from your father?" Sasha changed the subject, Sloan lie back on the bed, "No mother," She barked.
"I'm sorry," Sasha felt bad for snapping at her daughter, "Its ok mom, dad is just who he is and I'm use to it," She replied, "No child should have to go through their life not getting to know their loved ones," Sloan grunted, "Mom we all know dad's a jerk and an ass," She answered. Sasha began to laugh, "I think I'll shower she left her cell phone on the nightstand. Sloan flipped on the TV and grabbed a travel brochure from the nightstand she accidentally knocked her mother's cell phone to the floor picking it up. The phone lit up catching her attention, Jenna had text again. Sloan scrolled the many texts and found it strange she sat her phone back on the nightstand but had questions.
"Hmm, that shower felt good," Sasha stood in the doorway towel drying her hair, "Yeah, uh," Sloan looked at her in a weird way, "Are you alright?" Sasha became concerned. "Mom, I'm fine, I just need a shower," She walked past her and into the bathroom. Sasha sat to the bed and picked up her phone, the messages from Jenna, sobering in a way, she read them, Jenna was concerned of her whereabouts and wanted her to call and let her know she was alright. Sasha tossed her phone back to the nightstand she didn't want to talk to Jenna, it was too painful. Sloan exited the bathroom and began to dress, "I could just lay here," Sasha noted, "Mom are you seeing anyone?" Sloan blurted, "No why?" She found it unusual that she would ask.
"Mom. I accidentally knocked your phone off and the messages," She confided, Sasha looked at her daughter with a blank stare, "What do you mean? They're messages from a friend," She tried to conceal her angst. "Mom," Sloan put her hands on her hips, "We should talk, why don't we walk down to the park," Sasha voiced and quickly dressed. Sasha and Sloan walked to the park and found a bench, they sat down, "Mom what's going on, are you messing around with this Jenna's husband?" Sasha swallowed hard, "No," She was adamant. "Mom please don't lie, I've had enough lies from my own father," She complained.
Sasha lowered her head, "I'm in love, but not with Jenna's husband," Sloan interjected, "Who is he? Why does this Jenna text you that way?" There was a lot of confusion on Sloan's part. "No one else knows, not even your grandmother," She tightly shook her head. "If you've met someone who makes you happy then why the secrets?" She wanted to know, "I'm not sure you will understand and I don't know that your grandmother will either," She responded looking at Sloan from the corner of her eye. "Is it dad or Jared?" She harshly questioned. "Neither," She scoffed. "Then who?" Sloan calmed herself seeing it was making her mother nervous and guarded.
Sasha began, "I never thought in a million years this would happen, but I cannot control fate or the cards it deals, the farm across the road from me lives a doctor, a married doctor," She hesitated briefly and then continued, "We met at the mailbox when I first moved there, I knew something was different between us, I've never felt so drawn to someone," Sloan frowned, "Cut to the chase mom," Sloan clutched her mother's hand in support, "I never thought I'd fall in love with another woman," She managed the words, Sloan's mouth gaped in surprise, "What!" She exclaimed her hand grew tighter to her mother's.
"It's true," Sasha confided, "But she's married," Sloan interrupted her, "Is this Jenna the one?" She forwardly asked, "Yes, we didn't leave things in a good way, actually its all in a fucked up mess," She sighed loudly, a tear traced her cheek. "Mom, you have to fix it," There was great excitement in Sloan's voice, "I can't we've both done the unthinkable, cheating, I've always held my self to a higher esteem, I never cheated your father or Jared," She looked at her daughter with sadness, "But it's obvious," Sloan remarked, "What do you mean?" Sasha eased herself, "You weren't in love with them," She hugged her mother and could feel the pain she was experiencing radiating from her body.
