A change of the heart.....

Sasha didn't sleep very well, the trip back from Germany long and tiring. A knock came to her door she sprang from her bed, "Who is it?" She tied the sash to her robe, "It's Trask," She rolled her eyes letting him in, "You'll have to excuse me," She attempted to smile, "I could come back later," He sincerely spoke, Sasha turned the coffee pot on, "Let me dress," She got two coffee mugs down from the cabinet. Trask poured them both a cup, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize, I should've called first," He grunted as she re entered the room. "No worries," She stirred the sugar into her coffee, "I didn't sleep well, the travel," They sat to the island together.

"What brings you by?" She asked, "I have an individual working for me, Jose Peron, he's a spare I use when we are going to auction on some of our head, he's a good worker," He replied. "Ok, so when can you bring him by and is he trustworthy?" Trask nodded, this afternoon, that is if your not busy and yes he's worked for our family on and off for years," He relayed, "How was your trip?" He further questioned, "My grandmother, mother and my aunt Marta are grouchy," They both laughed, "Your daughter?" He hadn't really asked about her before, "The trip was an experience and we got to spend some quality time together," She remarked thinking of their conversation regarding Jenna.

"She's in school you said?" Sasha grinned widely, the pride she felt, "Princeton, smart girl and thank god she won't be following in my footsteps," She giggled. "Everything was fine here while you were away, Jenna came over one afternoon and was surprised you were gone," Sasha's heart skipped a beat, "I didn't tell her, I," Trask interjected, "She seemed upset that you didn't say anything," He mentioned finishing his coffee. Jenna had a strange look, "I thought you two were friends," He gathered looking for an answer, "She's neighborly at best, I think the hospital and her husband keep her busy," She briefly looked away from him.

"Being married to Colin has its disadvantages," He spoke cautiously, Sasha gazed at him strangely, "What do you mean?" Trask frowned, "He, Clark Gibbs and my brother were football mates, there was a cheerleader, Anna Vance, Colin was deeply in love with her she had eyes for Clark, they fought over her he wouldn't let it go,  I guess he's changed a lot since then, Clark married Anna and moved to Michigan, my brother cut ties with him, Colin's a strange one though, always perfectly dressed, smarter then the average Joe, however he can be possessive, I would say he's lucky to have Jenna," He furrowed his brow thinking back to their earlier days.

"Thank you for the coffee," He clutched her arm, "I'll call and let you know when I can bring Jose out," Sasha followed him to the door, "Thank you for watching the farm, it helped me out," She followed him out to the porch, "My pleasure," He replied walking to his truck. Sasha went back inside closing the door and leaning against the back of it she was desperate to see Jenna. The cold remarks made about Colin were bothersome she needed to know if Jenna was truly alright. Sasha quickly dressed and walked across the road she knocked on the front door, Colin answered. "Hello Colin," She didn't know what to say next, "Sasha, looking for Jenna?" He stepped outside and in front of her, "Yes, I've been away, just wanted to catch up," She voiced.

"She's working her shift at the hospital," He answered plainly, Jenna looked down to see a suitcase in one hand and a satchel in the other, "Going somewhere?" She asked looking back up to him, "Denver, the semester is over, two weeks until fall begins," She followed him to his car, "I'm doing a seminar there before I start back," Sasha felt a great relief, "Jenna really doesn't have any girlfriends to talk to, I'm worried she's bored," He rambled getting into the car, "Could you talk to her, something's going on in that pretty little head of hers," Sasha nodded and gulped, "Have a safe trip," She waved goodbye watching him drive away.

Sasha went into the village, "Can I help you?" The receptionist asked sitting at the nurse's station, "Is Dr. Ford in by chance?" Sasha asked "She is, I'll phone her," The receptionist did, "Her office is the third door on the left, right down the hall there," She pointed, Sasha thanked her quickly making her way to Jenna's office she knocked, Jenna opened the door lowering her head. "I see you've made it back," She showed her in, Sasha looked around, the office small with a single window, a few pictures hung from the wall, a lamp dimly lit sat on the desk, "I am," She sat her purse in the chair.
