As you wearily trudge along life's way,
You wonder where joy does stay,
As you struggle to keep despair at bay;
Just for once, listen to what I say.Joy is not a prize to win, it is a choice,
It is in the little things, those without a price,
You should be hearing it, though it hath no voice;
Singing in moments that make you rejoice.In the gurgle of a baby, the giggle of a child,
In the smile of a parent, filled with pride,
Echoing when in confidence you stride;
These are the places that joy does hide.When in misery you are drowned,
Sorrow at your heels does hound,
When family and friends rally around;
In your teary eyes, timid joy is found.Hours in delightful company spent,
Expected gifts and surprise presents,
Flowers filling the air with their scents;
Joy gleams in such ephemeral moments.Alone when at night, the stars you gaze,
Or sit by yourself, watching summer blaze,
In times of clarity, lost in solitude's daze;
Though subdued, joy slumbers in a haze.Colourful butterflies, sky split by a rainbow,
Fragrant earth, dewdrops on green meadow,
Fall's red, golden leaves, or air twirling with snow;
Joy rushes through you, warm and mellow.
Wafting from your heart's every cranny and nook,
Peeping from behind those pictures you took,
In the ink of old letters, between pages of a book;
Joy is everywhere, if you know where to look.______________________________________________________
