You had noticed Tony's distress over the past couple of days as he had became distant and preferred to be alone with his thoughts drowning himself in them and the alcohol. Tony isolated himself from everyone including you and spent the majority of his time down at the lab.
whenever you would try to get close to him he would push you away as he did with the others.
Your heart broke for him, Tony had always been the one to face many trials. Everyone threw their harsh assumptions at him and to top it all off, the avengers just broke up which wasn't easy at all especially when Tony found out how his parents died plus Steve and Bucky's role in all of it.
You felt utmost sympathy for the man you loved and as you scanned the code into his lab, friday the AI granting you access, you hoped that tony was okay.
You walked in to find him sitting at his desk with colourful holographic figures and diagrams surrounding him as he worked.
Tony lost in thought hadn't heard you approaching so when you placed a hand onto his shoulder and called his name Tony jolted out of his reverie.
He cleared his throat and smiled but it didn't quiet reach his tired eyes.
He held your hand and tenderly smiled at you. Seeing the woman he loved had always made Tony feel at comfort. ʻʻHi.ʼʼ You mirrored a smile back at him and held onto his fingers.
Tony tugged you towards him, making you sit on his lap as he gently rested his head against your chest. you played with his hair gently and he hummed.
