"Sorry love, your mother says time for bed" her father told
"Can you tell me a bed time story, pretty please" Maddie asked her father giving him her best puppy dog eyes
"Alright then, what story do you want to hear"

After getting her hair and picking out a dress Caroline was ready to go to the ball. Upon arrival Caroline was greeted by the eldest Mikaelson siblings Elijah and Fin along with their mother Esther.
"Hello Mrs. Mikaelson"
"Hello Miss.Forbes, these are my sons Elijah and Fin"
"Hello gentlemen"
"Miss Forbes, pleasure to meet you" Elijah said
"Nice to meet you" Fin said
"Hope you enjoy yourself, Miss" Esther said

After dancing and socializing with people Caroline became tired of interacting so she decided to slip out the back towards the garden
"Not enjoying yourself, Love" a voice said making Caroline jump
"Seriously?! You almost scared me to death"
"My apologies. So are you truly not enjoying yourself or do you just find our garden spectacular"
"A little bit of both. I just needed some fresh air that's all" Caroline told honestly
"I know how you feel. Mother made us rehearse for this dreadful event all week"
"So, which Mikaelson are you Kol or Niklaus"
"Niklaus,but please call me Nik"
"So Nik, why aren't you in there dancing. I'm pretty sure any girl will be begging just to get a dance with you"
"What about you?"
"What about me?"
"What if I want to dance with you? Would you let me"
"I might"
"Well then love, would you do me the honor of a dance" Klaus said holding out his hand
"You know I'm too smart to be seduced by you" Caroline said taking his hand
"I know, that's why I fancy you" Klaus said bringing Caroline closer
"You know that there is no music right"
"Who cares" Klaus starts the dance

"Oh my goodness" Maddie said dreamily
"Okay love, now it is time for bed. Goodnight my princess"

"Don't forget to tell mommy I said goodnight and I love her too"
"I won't. I'll make sure she knows" Klaus said leaving his daughter's room

"Mine as well" Klaus said kissing back
"You know that I'm too smart to be seduced by you" Caroline said smiling at him
