"Do you regret meeting me?" Klaus asked Caroline one night in bed

"What? No!"

"I mean after all the terrible things that I have done. Do you regret the way that we met?"

"No. I mean yes when we first met I was afraid of you. You were this big bad hybrid who had just killed Elena's aunt and I was afraid of you. Yes, you killed one of my best friends aunt, had Stefan go all Rippery, and almost killed me twice."

Klaus looked away from her remembering how he had made Tyler bit her and how he bit her out of his own anger for seeing his baby brother dead burnt to a crisp. Caroline grabbed his face placing her hands on both sides

"But through it all I know why you did it. So no I don't regret meeting you. Maybe the way we met could have been different but I don't....I wouldn't change a thing."

"You know a couple of years before you can't town and I was still human I was in the grill with Bonnie and I had been complaining about why everyone chose Elena over me, why was it that she was the one everyone picked. So when you came to town and you noticed me first instead of her I thought you were only using me to get to her because why wouldn't you notice Elena Gilbert."

"My intentions were pure when I said all those things years ago to you. I only thought about Elena as a means to break a curse that was placed on me. I thought of you more than I probably should have. You're light that surrounds you and how you are possibly the only person in the world who could have and still talk to me the way that you do and live to tell about it."

Caroline laughed wiping the tears that trinkled out when Klaus was talking

"Do you think that if you were never cursed we still would have met?"

"I think we would have eventually. At some point you would have grown tired with your small town life, small town boy. It wouldn't have been enough"

"Yeah your right and I would have eventually had to move people would have began to notice I wasn't exactly aging"

"If we met somewhere else in another lifetime where do you think it would have been?"

"I think we would have met somewhere like in Paris or Rome or it could be in New Orleans. I have always wanted to travel so I think we would have crossed paths in Paris. I would be at some bar and you would come up and talk to me and I would try and blow you off but you are very persistent"

"That I am"

"You would ask my name but I wouldn't give it to you."

"I do love a challenge"

"Yes, and we would talk the entire night not knowing the others name only that one another are vampires but that's it"

"What else love"

"When the bar is closing and last call is being done. I would say goodnight and get up and walk out the door, you would chase me but I am already gone. The only thing that is left of me is a ripped piece of paper with a number."

"Wow love, it seems that you have thought about this"

"I did once,all of the scenarios we could have met and that one was my favorite but I also thought about one in which I get sent back in time to when you were human"

"You would have been the most beautiful woman in the village"

"Thousand times more beautiful. So was a wench who enjoyed the fight between her but never truly who me and my brother was as a person"
