"I needed to know"

"To know what exactly? You are my employee I am your boss!"

"That's all we are Klaus, seriously. We laugh, we flirt, we drink."

"That doesn't mean that I want more."

"You know for somebody who doesn't want 'more' you are pretty insistent on telling me when it bothers you when I am dating someone."

"Because it does."

"Why?! You say you don't want more because you're afraid to risk anything. I am tired of being the person you call at 6 in the morning or at midnight because you can't sleep or you just want someone to talk too."

"Then don't pick up, love!"

"You see that there, there's the problem. You forget that I know you better than anyone else. You can try to put up this crap with Stefan, Rebekah, or Elijah or even one of your clients but you can't do that with me." She told Klaus who had an angered face

"I'll watch myself if I were you love"

"Or you'll what?" Caroline said coming closer to Klaus' face

"Don't push me, love." Klaus said becoming angrier if that was even possible

"You see! You try to put up this wall like you're some stone cold heartless bastard whenever it is something you don't want to hear."

"You kissed me Caroline! How else am I suppose to react!"

"It was just a kiss Klaus! Nothing more."

"It shouldn't have happened!"

"We've done more than that!"

"So why did you do it! Why now? After all this time."

"I just needed to know!"

"You keep saying that! You needed to know what exactly. Our lines have been perfectly clear for a long time."

"Clear, our lines are as blurry as lines can get." Caroline said, "And for the record I didn't feel anything when I kissed you! Whatever it is I thought it was it was not there. So you can relax."

"That's not what I'm worried about now I have to keep a secret from Camille."

"No you don't. If it didn't effect you, then you don't have to hide anything Go and tell her that you didn't do anything. That it was all me." Caroline said

As Klaus didn't answer Caroline thought that maybe it did effect him more than he thought.

"It did effect you. Didn't it."

"I'm human Caroline, what do you think it did to me."

"That's not the same thing as feeling something."

"You made the one thing I never wanted to be. You know how my mother was. How she slept around and used me to cover it up." Klaus said and walking towards the exit of the firm.
