Her POV

"Troy, where's the gift?" Gab asked his driver slash main bodyguard at the wheels. Aaron her bodyguard is in shotgun who's the one who produced a wrapped box

She couldn't stop to chuckle and slid her head, "You made an effort, amazing." He didn't bought her an engagement ring but he made some time looking for a gift

Gab scoffed, "We need to come with a gift as a generous move. It's Christine. Roberts and Thomas would be in attendance"

"Ok, whatever you said," she uttered impassively. She remembered what Simon said about the Whites, be careful. Does the two family knew that too? There's another invitation arrived on her doorstep too. It's for 'charity' thing on showbizness that she chose to decline as she's not really into an event that you need to dress and looked pricey instead of giving everything on the charity directly. But Neil acted fast on pulling that invitation again and Gab agreed even if she complained on it. Now she needs to find a sponsor for her gown.

Speaking of, she alight their car and checked on her violet dress who stopped below her knees. Gab checked on her attire earlier and just nodded, meaning it's safe but now frowning when he saw her heels

"That's too tall. You don't need those elevated shoe cover when you're tall enough," he reacted

"I am fine, I've been using these kinds of shoes since teenager," she reasoned lazily. She even run with one of those in some of her action shoots

Gab attended in a black suit even if she told her that they don't need to be formal, but Whites are always Whites.

It was the first time that Gab saw the house. She knew he was astounded at first because he stopped first to stare on it. Luke threw loads of money for that house on a hill for Christine, Gab shouldn't be surprise.

Their house is mansion of two storey overlooking the city of Sanders where there's too many lights from skyscrapers and smaller buildings. It is mostly brown in hue because of different kinds of bricks on its walls plus beautiful trellis at it's porch.

"Christine designed it," she shared at the gasping fiance but he just grunted in response and straightened out his already straight coat.

Luke already at the door grinning at them when they ascended their porch, "Well, here's comes the first lovely couple!"

HIS POV

"Hey Gab, good to see you again," Luke greeted but he just offered him a simple smile along with that one shake too formal hand grip. Then Luke faced the lady he's with, now giving in wider smile, "Patty, thanks for coming"

Patty nodded, "Where's the birthday girl?"

"Oh, she's upstair dealing with an emergency with the kid but she will go down soon," Luke answered smiling and make a hand sign of poop with his right palm caging his left thumb. Dumb ass. "You know White, you can use other clothes more than suit. But then again Simon is coming, he's usually on suit too so you will never be out of place"

"Seems like having two kids made you more childish now Roberts?" he jabbed instead

"You know each other personally?" Patty asked pointing her upturned hands to both of them

"Of course, they won't snub me, I'm Luke Roberts. Too cute to ignore," the guy joked while giving Patty his wink. That thing he always use in taking any girl he like during his heyday as a manwhore.

"You mean too loud to ignore, unfortunately," he reacted, but it also translate to "too scandalous to be newsworthy" for him.

Luke just wriggled his brows, "You know me White, if I'm silent people will search for me. Life's hard for some, I don't want to give them a hard time looking for yours truly"
