HIS POV

The woman they call Mrs. Thomas keeps looking at him on that blank face while he's explaining his platforms and plans. She might know some of the things he said since she's just on board with the Thomas company.

The lady arrived that day regal looking on her fitted flower printed white dress, sporting it with an obvious baby bump.

She had that brown hair, blue eyes and beautiful face that he preferred ten years ago, but Christine change him and her features is the one he's been looking for in any girls eversince. He already met her that faithful day with Patty. The girl's feisty that day, but discussion about political things are different.

Neil called him about the schedule that end of September. His campaign manager slash assistant told him that Thomases gave an exact date for the proper interview. Him and Christopher talked at Luke's party but it's all about the latter's grandchildren. The guy's a symbol of happiness and contentment, unlike his father who's always looking for something that will benefit him and will get it even if his children will suffer in the process. At least he scored some talked with Barry and Lorraine Roberts.

Going back, he doesn't know why the woman is at that meeting but it doesn't matter. He's only there to talk to Donatello Thomas, Christopher's cousin and the one who controls Crowns Development for now.

Like Christopher, Donatello Thomas also had an all smiling face. Dark curly hair paired with dark eyes. He's known a funny man and Christopher's vice president before retirement.

"Excuse me Gabriel," Don cut his talk. "You have a good plan but my old bladder seems dominated my chance on hearing you more. I need to take a leak for a while," the old man said and smiled to girl beside him and tapped her shoulder. Don left him with the brown hair woman

The girl stared down to her steak when the old man gone. She just took a little of it earlier and he doesn't know why

"You're not eating Mrs. Thomas, any problem with the steak?" he asked to finally talk to her. Just to pass the time without Don as it turning awkwardly silent.

She looked at him again, "What do you think?"

He shrugged, "Girl's have demands other than guys. You're taste bud might be different now…"

"How about your food?" she asked, cutting him in the process

"We ordered the same food Mrs. Thomas," he replied calmly. She's not that shallow minded right? She should know that there's no difference with the presence of all steak on their table.

"You didn't taste your steak. How do you know if you have problem with that?"

"Well, because I'm nervous with Don, I guess," he confessed.

She smirked. A different facial reaction finally. "That's your problem."

Gab used his willpower not to scoff, "What do you mean by that Mrs. Thomas?"

"You keep saying about the problems of the poor but you don't know what they really need"

He chuckled, "I know lots Mrs. Thomas. For your information I've been working with the lower classes for five years. I know what they need, not just charities run by beauty queens to be watched for. What I'm facing is the truth." He doesn't want to come out strong, but he doesn't have the patience to talk to girls who just had privileged to marry rich guys then acting like they can control any man.

She laughed at him, "You can't fix the problem of a steak if you didn't even tasted it. Just like your pro poor platforms. What? You want to give them a portion of food in a while? Giving them free education? Free uniforms? That's it? Because boy, you don't know what's going on in the South"
