Tom POV

It had been almost an hour since the two soldiers had gotten themselves collected and in a sane enough mood to take me downstairs into
some sort of holding cell...in a hospital?
"What kind of hospital is this?" I said confused, with everything happening my mind is all jumbled. The soldiers gave me a look of surprise and terror, as if I had grown a second head or something. The male gave the girl a look and she nodded, grabbing him by the shoulder and pulling him a few feet away, whispering to each other. Or attempt at whispering.
"They dont usually begin conversations, what do we do?"
"How should I know, but have you seen his eyes? I think he's blind."
"Blind people are friendly. Right?"
I rolled my 'eyes' and sat down, displeased with how damp and dirty the concrete below me was. They kept trying to find some sort of correlation between blindness and kindness.
"Oi, I can see, AND hear you two perfectly, and Im most likely to sock you in the face if you piss me off." I yelled over, glaring at them. They got flustered and came closer. The girl approached the cell and put on a terribly performed glare. I could see her entire body trembling.
"Wh-why *ahem* why did you begin a conversation then ?" I almost felt bad as her eyes began to water. Almost. I shrugged.
"It wasnt a quetion you were supposed to take seriously, usually if i ask or say anything, a soldier or whatever you guys are will flat out ignore me, or hit me." I said, folding my arms and huffing in annoyance. She goes red and turns around, speed walking back to the other guy. She begins to do breathing exercises to herself then starts talking to him again.
"We've made a mistake." She says, pushing her hands together and glaring with her eyes shut.
"I mean the whole reason we're stuck doing all the jobs no one else wants is because we make mistakes." He retorts bluntly.
"That doesn't make me feel any better."
"Its not supposed to."
"Uugh..you-"
"Suck, yes I know." The man patted her head and snickered, "But oh well, you're stuck with me. After all I'm the one who cut that gum out of your hair last week, so you should thank me for being so manly and heroic." He puffed out his chest and crossed his arms. The girl just gave him a look of complete disappointment.
"Oh yeah, "manly" definitely..." The girl cleared her throat and stood straight, showing off her height over him by three inches, "first off, you're shorter than most girls, you screamed about that mouse in your room last night, and it was YOU who put that gum in my hair!" She glared down at him as he shrunk lower with everything statement.
"I at least have a cooler name than Alex." He tried to come back but failed.
"You literally have a girls name! Sigrún is a Valkyrie. A woman!"
The two continued to fight, with the presumed Sigrun losing horribly. I at this point wondered how they weren't in one of these cells. I grumbled, I could really use a drink right now.
"Yo!" I finally stood up and leaned up on the bars, catching their attention, "I don't know, or care, how terrible you guys are at your job or why he has a chicks name but I could really be using this time to mope and feel sorry for myself instead of listening to you guys roast each other." I end my statement and go back into a corner, pulling my hood on and glaring at the two. Alex looks down at the floor with a guilty look and Sigrun scratches the back of his head.
"S-sorry..." Sigrun walks out of the room, poking his head back in to point at Alex, "you take first shift on him." She pulled one of her eyelids down and stuck her tongue out at him, he made a gagging noise and walked out again.
Alex ends up looking around the area, finding a foldable table and chair to set up and sit in. I sigh in relief, but it doesn't last long.
"Soo... how's it hanging?" She stares at me, swinging her feet and scuffing the concrete floor with her boots. I curse under my breath.
"Can I please just enjoy this painfully sober moment in peace and quiet?"
"But I'm bored..." She whines.

Edd POV

I heard Ringo outside, scratching at my door. I was in the kitchen, inspecting the papers. I walked over, opening it and seeing her meow eagerly, lifting her front paws up onto my legs, in a seek for attention.
"Oh my dear Ringo." I squatted down, gingerly picking her up and hugging her close. She purred and rubbed her nose against my cheek. I resisted the urge to cry and stood up again, going to close the door until I saw Matt walk out of that apartment, coughing and rubbing his eyes.
"Matt, what happened?" I walked out to make sure he wasn't hurt. I held a hand up to his cheek, turning his head left and right.
"Okay, fine, in okay Edd." He grabbed my hand and made an attempt to smile, cringing at the pain. I frowned.
"C'mon." I hold his hand and pull him into my place. He tries to protest and walk out but I hold Ringo out in a threat. Matt holds up his hands in defeat, laughing weakly, not wanting to be covered in cat hair a second time and sits at the couch.
"Good." I let Ringo go and she charges into Matt's lap, covering him anyway. He grumbles and I laugh, walking over to the kitchen to grab the paperwork off the counter and back with Matt on the couch. He looks at me happily and I blush, "what?"
"You lauthed." He says, grabbing my face and pulling me close, our foreheads touching. I smile at how he's begun to accustom himself to speaking, feeling proud in a way.
"Yeah I guess I did." We stare at each other for a moment, I take the time to look over the beauty that remained, even under layers of bandages. I notice the ways his eyes keep looking over my face too and I blush, getting snapped back into reality, I pull away a bit, pushing the stack of papers between our faces.
"Haha okayy so we need to look over this. There might be clues as to what we're getting ourselves into." I say sheepishly.
"Ut do you nean?" He says, almost dissapointed at the lack of contact again, but curious. I wave the packet around like a fan, spooking Ringo away.

"We are going to find a way to get Tom back!"
