I woke up when it was light outside already. This time I knew exactly where I was but Sans was gone. So... was it a dream? Or did the events of last night actually happen? I wasn't even sure, until...
Oh good morning, little Frisky! Oh no I wasn't a dream yesterday! I almost got smiley trashbag.... Ahahahahahh!
I pushed Chara away and they went surprisingly easily. If it wasn't a dream they must have been tired out of trying to control me.
I got up and went to the kitchen. Undyne was sitting on the dining table and snacking on a toast. She was wearing a onesie with blue spears on it as a pjs.
"Hey, bestie," I waves at her, "did'ya only make toasts for yourself?"
"Mornin' punk! There's more behind me. Don't eat the one with the heart out of jam! That one is for Alphy!" she nyaaaad "How did you sleep?"
"Ughhh, stupid nightmares kept me up..." I yawned.
"Yeah, I saw you needed some help falling asleep." Undyne grinned.
"What do you mean-?"
"hi guys. alphys is still asleep?" Sans walked out of the bathroom. He had a towel over his shoulders instead of his blue hoodie. I couldn't resist but stare, he almost never puts the hoodie down.
"Yeah, I'll go check on her. Metta left, he has a show to film today." Undyne winked at Sans and left for the guest room.
"hi, kid..." Sans avoided eye contact.
"Hi," I said, blushing when I remembered the night, "sooo... about what happened-"
"SAAANS!" I heard Papyrus storm from his room to the kitchen. "WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP?! I WAS SUPPOSED TO MAKE PASTA FOR EVERYONE FOR BREAKFAST!"
"Hi, Papy, it's ok, Undyne made some toast for everyone..." I tried to calm him down.
"WHAT?! UNDYNE? NYOO HOO HOOO... NOW SHE'LL THINK I'M AS LAZY AS SANS AND I WILL NEVER BE PART OF THE ROYAL GUARD!" Oh no, I only made it worse.
"hey, calm down bro," Sans told him, "how could the great papyrus not be accepted to the guard?"
"The royal guard does not ex-" Undyne walked in and started saying.
"...accept anyone because they're leaving the space for you, bro." Sans cut her off and gave her a look. She didn't get it.
"But-"
"Hey, bestie, wanna come and have a talk in the living room?" It was me who cut her off this time. I grabbed Undyne by the hand and dragged her away.
Before we left, I looked back at the skelebros. Papyrus was beaming and Sans had a thankful look in his eyes. He loved his baby bro so much.
"You would crash Papy's dreams if you told him the guard was disbanned," I explained to Undyne in the living room, "just act as if it still existed."
"Oh," She finally understood.
"H-hi guys." Alphys happened to walk in, yawning.
"Hi, science girl! Breakfast is in the kitchen. I guess you'll need some super dark coffee to get you going." I waved at her.
"Yes! I need t-that n-now!" she scurried to the kitchen. Undyne wanted to follow her but I stopped her.
"If you want to know what I think, the guard should have stayed," I told her, keeping my voice low and went to the kitchen.
Once everyone was eating their toast and drinking their tea or coffee, Undyne asked: "Why do you make us hide from humans, Frisk?"
"Well... Humans... Let's say they aren't very friendly with anyone who's... different." I answered carefully.
"but you're cool with us, or?" said Sans.
"Yes, but I am different myself, kind of. There are nice humans, but the others... We've had wars over having different colors, races, beliefs, even languages, all between just humans."
"H-how are you d-different f-from other h-humans?" Alphys' interest was not just scientific this time.
"My eyes. They're red. Red eyes are presumed something like evil by humans. I have been bullied my whole life, hated. Even my family was afraid of me..." I was confessing this for the first time, ever.
Oh, they were right to be afraid of us... Ahahaha!
Not me!
Sans put his hand on my arm. The others looked confused.
"WHY WOULD THEY HATE YOU FOR HAVING RED EYES? THE GREAT PAPYRUS LIKES THEM VERY MUCH! THERE IS NO EVIL IN YOU, LITTLE HUMAN!" Papyrus declared.
If only you knew...
"so that's why you have them almost closed most of the time..." said Sans.
"If any of those punks come to my sight, I will... Nyaaa!" Undyne suplexed Papyrus. He looked as if it was normal.
"Y-your eyes look l-like from th-the main anime ch-character, F-frisk! S-so pretty!" Alphys' eyes lit up, "I bet M-mettat-ton would l-love to put s-some of h-his make up art o-on them if y-you let him."
Sans leaned closer to my ear and whispered: "i have never seen prettier eyes on anyone."
I blushed deeply and smiled at all my friends.
The thought of being accepted filled me with DETERMINATION.
