Mario clenched the crumpled map in his hands as he looked in front of him. The famous mansion stood in front of him, as fog surrounded it like a cloak. Its creepy structure really seemed to bring out its eerie presence.
'So this is the mansion Peach meant, huh?' Mario thought. He looked around him. Moss and vines covered the walls and the ground. There were cracks all over the place. He didn't even hear or see any living creatures here, only silence seemed to be present. It was clearly in bad shape, probably left attended here for several years. Mario paused. Now that he thought about it, not even the Princess knew how many years it had been here. All she knew was that it was a neighboring mansion to the Kingdom. And that it was a place of no-return.
That ironically added to the sick chills Mario felt in his stomach.
"Well, I guess there's no point in just standing here...." Mario said out loud, and with a bit of reluctance, he walked through the entrance gate, and towards the stairs, to start his journey of regret.
Unaware that from inside the house, there was a blond-haired man watching from the window, shrouded with mystery.
