Luigi explored all the bedrooms in the second level, but he couldn't find anything that matched the description Rosa gave him. He then decided to explore the last bedroom on the far right of the second level. He opened the door, and stepped inside, looking around. It was was just like the other rooms, a bed, a small bed table, and other bedroom items. He then noticed a big study desk on the left side of the room. There were shuffled papers littered on the desk. Luigi held up the lantern to the desk, and was able to see some of the writing on them. On the top of one sheet he found, it read, Alfred.
'Alfred? Is this the man Rosa was talking about?' he thought, when he suddenly felt the presence of someone else in the room. He quickly turned around, to see a man right behind him. He was wearing a grey vest with a white-collared shirt. And his facial expression wasn't exactly pleasant. Luigi jumped back a little in surprise. He hadn't even heard someone come in! He opened his mouth, trying to get something out, but the man interrupted him.
"Get out." he said in a menacing tone. Luigi was taken aback.
"W-what-!" Just like Rosa, he was also shrouded in blue light, but that light turned red. That made Luigi's fear skyrocket. The man then stepped forward.
"I said, get out. Before I make you." Luigi froze in place, unsure of what to do. He was sure what Rosa was looking for would be in this room, but this man was threatening him to get out. Luigi tried to talk with him.
"A-are you Alfred?" The man paused, before speaking again.
"Who's asking?" he demanded. Luigi swallowed hard.
"I-I'm Luigi. I came here to look for my brother, and I ran into someone who wanted to see you? Goes by the name of Rosa?" Alfred's eyes widened.
"Rosa?! You saw her?! Where?!" Luigi flinched a little, but pointed to the door.
"S-she was in the bathroom when I last saw her." Alfred gasped a little, but he then looked away. He then turned blue. Luigi gasped a little at the light change, but decided not to say anything. Now that he thought about it, hadn't Rosa said something about him being able to see the colors of ghosts? What was that about?
"What..... do you want with me?" Alfred asked, a bit softer than his previous tone. Luigi looked back to his desk.
"Rosa..... she wanted to see you again, or at least have something that belonged to you, so that she could remember you again. Is that ok with you?" Luigi said in a soft tone. Alfred looked at him with a surprised face. His face then melted to sadness.
"Luigi, I..... I'm not ready to face her..... at least, not yet. But, I do have some things I've been wanting to give her, from years ago. I think they should suffice," he said. Luigi's face lightened up.
"Oh, thank you! Where are they?" Luigi asked. Alfred then turned towards his desk.
"My desk. I kept them here." Alfred walked past Luigi, and towards the desk. He shuffled through the papers, seemingly looking for something. His face then lit up.
"Ah. Here it is." He lifted one sheet from the piles of papers on his desk. He then gave it Luigi.
"Please, give it to her. I..... want her to read it. She needs to hear my story." Luigi nodded with a smile, as he took it.
"I will. Is there something else you want me to give her?" Alfred nodded.
"Yes....." He then opened a drawer that was located on the front of the desk. He then took out..... a gold ring. Luigi widened his eyes.
