Marchionne grabbed Luigi and shoved Alice to the left side of the path. Marchionne ran over there as well. They all shut their eyes tightly, waiting for impact..... but nothing came. The only noise they heard were a few thuds. They looked to the right and sure enough, the swords on that side of the path were real. Luigi gasped and he backed away a bit. Alice was rendered silent with dilated eyes. Marchionne gave a sigh of relief and leaned back against the wall. Alice stared at him, and anger filled her eyes. She then yelled,
"You're relieved?!?! You just-!!!"
"-Saved our lives. Alice, don't push it." Marchionne interrupted. Alice scoffed and yelled,
"No. You just gambled my life!!!!! You're participating in this sick game of hers!!!" She then narrowed her eyes and walked towards him.
"I really hate people who try to use me like that-" Luigi blocked Alice from Marchionne. Marchionne widened his eyes, looking at him. Luigi said,
"Stop it! He just saved our lives! Helena said we shouldn't argue if we want to get out of this alive!! We should try to work together-!!" Alice laughed at him with sarcasm. Luigi could feel his nerves shaking. He was still a bit traumatized by what Alice had done to him. Alice then replied,
"Get out of the way green. This doesn't concern you. Or was that knife stab I gave you not convincing enough-?" Luigi's eyes widened and he started to cower. Marchionne then intervened, saying,
"Alice. That's enough. I would never gamble somebody's life like that if I wasn't sure." Alice grit her teeth at him, saying,
"What? So you saved me out of sympathy?" Marchionne sighed in annoyance and said,
"Don't misunderstand Alice. That was just instinct. But unlike you, I'm not heartless enough to just leave you to die." Alice pursed her lips together, and looked away. He then looked down.
'Well...... not anymore at least......' he thought. Luigi widened his eyes and asked Marchionne,
"Wait, how did you know that the swords on the left side were illusions?" Marchionne looked at him and answered,
"..... Out of everyone here, who would Helena most likely attack?" Luigi widened his eyes and he said,
"She was aiming for you?" Marchionne nodded.
"Ever since I arrived, Helena was cautious of my magic. I then assumed if there was anyone she wanted to get rid of first, it would be me. Since I was on the right side, she had real swords attack me there." Luigi nodded, then frowned.
"Wait, if that's true, how did you know to go to the left side, instead of the middle?" Marchionne answered,
"The way the swords were positioned, they were flawed. If all of them were real, they would've collided with each other, instead of the target. And you two were in the middle. It seemed most logical. However, I'm not sure if the way the swords were positioned was her intention or not." Luigi put his hand on chin nodding.
"I see..... thanks." Marchionne nodded. Luigi then tilted his head.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Where's your cleaver? I didn't see it with you." Marchionne answered,
