"Really! You'll help me find him?!" he asked joyfully. Rose put her her hand up, her palm facing him.

"On the condition that you help me with something." Luigi was a bit surprised, but smiled.

"Sure. What do you need help with?" he asked her. Rosa closed her eyes.

"Back when I used to live in the mansion, there was someone whom I cared about. I even..... loved him..... but I didn't reciprocate his feelings of love as well. He....." She opened her eyes, and tears were escaping the sides of her eyes.

"He abused me, demanding for my love. I...... I wish to meet him again, or at least remember his name......" Luigi widened his eyes.

"You can't remember him?" he asked. She nodded, as the tears slid down his face. Luigi had a face of empathy.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you..... how can I help?" he then asked. She looked at him.

"I need you to find something that belonged to him in the house. An item or anything. Perhaps a letter or a ring......?" Luigi was a bit taken aback. How was he supposed to find a belonging of someone he didn't even know?!

"Can you at least try to remember his name?" Luigi pleaded. Rosa gasped a little, then closed her eyes.

"I..... hmm..... I think his name started with an 'A'?" she then replied. Luigi took in the new info and smiled at her.

"Don't worry, I"ll find what you're looking for," he told her. She nodded.

"Good. Your brother's life depends on it," she called out to him, as he picked back up his lantern, and jogged away, starting his new adventure.

The drizzle was a bit troublesome for Mario, but he could see clearly that there was a Toad right in front of him. He walked up to the mysterious Toad, and it turned its head. Mario then jumped back a little. Its eyes, they were white. The Toad opened its mouth with a small gasp, witnessing Mario. The Toad turned to Mario as it said,

"Hero of the Mushroom Kingdom? What in the world are you doing here!?" it asked, bewildered. Mario just stared, until he found his words.

"I-I came to investigate this place because I had heard from the Princess that people went missing here and-" Mario looked closer at the Toad, and his eyes widened when he realized who it was.

"A-are you Toadston?! I heard you had gone missing years ago. What happened to you!?" Mario asked, shocked. Toadston simply looked at Mario, then stared at the ground.

"Isn't it obvious? I died here." Mario was confused.

"Y-you... died?" Toadston nodded. Mario walked towards him with a sympathetic facial expression.

"What happened?" Mario asked, wanting to hear his story. Toadston closed his eyes, sighed, then spoke.

"I used to work for Professor E. Gadd, Mario. I was told to investigate the paranormal activity here." Mario's eyes widened.

"You mean that wack job who studies ghosts? Him? " Toadston nodded.

"But fate decided to have my life end here..... in this cursed place." Mario felt sick to his stomach.
