"Hold on. Alice, is this your first time seeing me?" he asked.

"Yes? Don't you remember? I was stuck inside the music box until you made contact with it. Ironically, I'm not able to see my surroundings inside due to there being some sort of.... barrier surrounding it, I guess? Quite a troublesome box." And she possessed him anyway without knowing what he looked like? Definitely not trippy at all.....

"Wait, why were you even inside the music box in the first place?!"

                   ".........."

                  "Alice. Please."

*sigh* "My daughter. She trapped me in this wretched box preventing me from leaving. So even if I were to undo the curse, I wouldn't be able to leave or pass on. A horrible fate indeed."

"Why would she do such a thing?" Mario asked with sympathy.

"Well, to be fair, she was scared of me escaping the mansion, and bringing wrath to your world. Not exactly my original intention, but I suppose she just wanted to be cautious."

                 "Did you actually kill her?"

"..........." Mario sighed as he shook his head. Another reason to consider his life choices.

"Look, I wasn't expecting..... this. For you to look like..... Marchionne." Mario was now dumbfounded.

                 "Wait, Marchi-who?" he asked.

"..... Never mind. Don't worry about it."

"Hold on! Alice! Stop hiding things from me!! What's going on-"

"Seems Alice possessed you. How unfortunate." Mario nearly jumped out of his skin from hearing a familiar voice behind him. He quickly looked behind him, with goosebumps crawling all over his skin. But nothing was there. Just an old bed, along with the other contents of the room.

"What the- .....A-Alice, did you hear that?" But she didn't respond.

"Lovely..... I'm now hearing another voice in my head. I must be losing it....." he muttered. Mario decided to stop standing there like an idiot, and get to searching. He still needed to do the investigation. He could worry about the 'Alice' problem later. Maybe he could fix it back at the Mushroom Kingdom. But in the meanwhile, he had to search. And to add truth to Alice's words, there was in fact a journal there. It was sitting on small desk table near the bed. He took it, and flipped to the first page. And as if irony were trying to torment him, it read:

Property of Marchionne Evangelisti

'This was the name Alice mentioned. Who is this, Marchionne?' he thought. He decided to flip through the pages. The dates on here.... they were in fact centuries ago. Man. This house has been here for a couple of hundred years. So..... how did Alice know him? And why did Marchionne look like him? He shook those thoughts away as he continued to search. These were journal entries of him when...... he was a child? He seemed to be describing his life. And it definitely wasn't all daisies and roses. This kid's life seemed to be hell from what he was writing. One of his entries read:
