"W-what? No, I think you've mistaken my brother for someone else Toadston-"

"Mario, think! When was the last time you noticed something off about your brother's eyes?" Toadston demanded. Mario stopped and thought. Wait. Now that he thought about it, he remembered a small glimpse of something that happened when he was 10, and- ! Mario gasped. Toadston sighed and shook his head.

"Unbelievable. Mario, so you don't even know your own brother's true eye color? Tell me, just how much do you disregard him?" Toadston asked with disapproval. Mario felt offended.

"W-what?! I don't- I mean- I-......." Toadston just looked at him with a sad expression.

"I mean, I've always thought his eyes were like mine. I never noticed something wrong, at least, I thought so. Although, there was this one time where-"

"You were 10?" Toadston asked with certainty. Mario looked at Toadston with a shocked face.

                         "How did you-?!"

"Because I was the one who gave him the contacts he's wearing right now," Toadston answered. Mario's eyes widened.

'He what?!' Mario thought. Toadston continued.

"It was about 16 years ago, Mario. I was still E. Gadd's worker at the time, and I was working in my personal workshop located in the Kingdom. I had been looking over some notes that E. Gadd sent me to read, when I heard your brother knocking on my door. So you can understand my confusion, when I opened my door to a crying child, who had dirt and leaves covering his body, asking for me to change his eye color." Mario felt so lost at what Toadston was saying.

'Luigi wanted to change his eye color? What happened?!' Mario thought, confused.

"I, of course, refused, but he begged me to at least try something. I then remembered the contact lenses I had. I knew he would never use them for their original intended use, so I decided to give them to him." Toadston told Mario. Mario couldn't believe what he was hearing. What did he mean 'intended use'?!

"But, I thought you of all people would know that about him. Did you seriously not know your brother wore contacts? How could you forget something as important as your own brother's eye color?! You were with him for nine years before he changed them!" Toadston exclaimed. Mario held his hand to head, as he tried to search his mind.

"I...... I don't know......" Mario said in a broken voice. He narrowed his eyes.

"I can't remember anything about that day." he explained, confusion in his voice. Toadston gasped a little in shock, and focused on Mario.

"You can't remember what happened that day? Are you sure?" he asked. Mario nodded. Toadston put his hand on his chin as he thought. He then sighed, shaking his head.

"Well, there's no point in addressing the matter right now. But I suggest you ask your brother what happened that day, because even I don't know. And I'm not sure if it's my place to tell what I heard." Toadston said. Mario nodded.
